Trent Harmon’s first gig, fresh off of Thursday night’s American Idol win, was to perform the National Anthem Saturday night at the Manny Pacquiao vs Timothy Bradley Jr. welterweight fight in Las Vegas.

In case you missed the headline, Pacquiao won his final fight ahead of retirement, in a unanimous decision before 14,665 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.  Pacquiao came back from a loss to Floyd Mayweather in their megafight last May 1. Earlier this year, there was a public backlash when the fighter made anti-gay remarks declaring homosexuals were “worse than animals.”

I have a low quality clip probably shot with a phone camera from a television. At $70 a pop for the pay-per-view, there was no chance we were going to be able to get an HD version. For a screen grab, the one we have is decent enough.  Never ignoring social media, Trent posted a behind the scenes video on Facebook Live. The anthem is included, but was shot behind some cameras outside of the ring. Click to check that out.

Trent sings a soulful version of the National Anthem including a couple of big ole glory notes. Check it out right here.
