Supergroup drama! The Voice season 7 winner Craig Wayne Boyd has been “voted out” of Texas Hill.

After playing gigs together, Craig, along with The Voice season 10 runner up Adam Wakefield and American Idol season 9 alum Casey James formed the singing show super group Texas Hill. The trio toured, and released an album of pleasant 70’s style harmonic country rock in 2022 titled Heaven Down Here.

Now, a major group shakeup has resulted in a brand new lineup for Texas Hill, sans Craig Wayne Boyd.

“2023 marks a new chapter for Texas Hill,” The band writes in an Instagram post. “Please join us in welcoming 3 new members to the band — Bart Walker, Louis Winfield and Clark Singleton. These musicians are incredible and we’re honored to have them join us from here on out.”

“I was voted out of the band I started”

As far as Craig is concerned, the message was diplomatic: “Craig Wayne Boyd is no longer going to be a part of this project, but we’re incredibly grateful for his contribution to the band over the past few years. We’ve made some great music together, and wish him all the best in his new endeavors. Peace and love,
Casey and Adam.”

However, when a fan asked Craig, on a Facebook post announcing a new concert date, if he was still in Texas Hill, Craig answered, “No, I was voted out of the band I started. But I’m excited to get back to gettout out and entertaining folk with good country music.” Passive aggressive dig noted!

Furious fans!

On both Instagram and Facebook, some fans are REAL MAD about Craig being booted from the band:

“You are losing a lot of fans by excluding him from the band.” says an Instagram commenter. “They voted him out and have continued with the band name. Oh and it was right before Christmas.” And another, “You kicked Craig out. The guy who put the band together. You lost a fan. Unfollowing now and going where the talent is. That’s CWBs page.”

On Facebook: “Wow. So you kicked out the person who brought this together. Well good luck. Hope the new members know your far from loyal.” Another fan wrote, “TEXAS HILL no Craig Wayne Boyd ? Well that just doesn’t make sense. You should change the name of your band. It’s not going to be the same sound without his lead harmonies……”

As far as the NEW Texas Hill are concerned, the band goes back out on the road in March. Some fans are upset after buying tickets anticipating the old lineup. Check out the schedule HERE.

Also the band is getting ready to record new music. “We’re going into the studio next month to start recording the new record, and are gonna be on the road all year long. We can’t wait for you to hear what we’ve been cooking up, and hope you come see us when we’re in your neck of the woods.”
