The Voice: Teen Singers Battle for a Spot on Team Gwen Stefani

The Voice 22 Battles Jillian Jordyn Rowan Grace Team Gwen Stefani

The Battle Rounds continue in a big way on The Voice (Oct 11). Teen pop singers, Jillian Jordyn and Rowan Grace fight it out for a spot on Team Gwen Stefani.

Jillian and Rowan perform American Idol alum Lauren Spencer-Smith’s massive viral hit, “Finger’s Crossed.”

The two bring their angelic voices together for a sweet rendition of the bittersweet song. The singers are so similar, that it makes sense that Gwen would eliminate one. Regardless, it will be a difficult decision for Gwen to make, a fact that becomes clear as their voices soar in beautiful harmony on the chorus.

Camila Cabello remarks on the pride Gwen has when she watches the young girls on her team. “I didn’t know I was going to feel like this!” says an emotional Gwen. Camila adds. “You guys should be so proud, that was so good.”

John Legend mentions that he turned for both singers, and says “I’m confident that I made a good decision.” But then he adds jokingly, “Not confident in you not picking me! That wasn’t cool.” He compliments both performances but thinks Rowan is even better than he remembers from the Blind Auditions.

Blake Shelton compliments Jillian’s energy, You’re electric when you get on the stage.” Blake promises Rowan that when she makes her record one day, one copy will go to him. Camila adds, “Two!” He especially liked the softer parts of Rowan’s voice, and says, “I would probably go with Rowan.”

Gwen could hear the nerves in Jillian’s voice initially, but felt she recovered, and “got better and better through the performance.” She then compliments 16 year old Rowan’s ability to be “tasteful and heartfelt” in the right moments. “You nailed it,” she says.

Celebrity advisors join the coaches for Battles

Celebrity advisers will join each of the coaches in the Battle Round. Sean Paul joins Team Gwen, Charlie Puth joines Team Camila, Jimmie Allen joins Team Blake and Jazmine Sullivan joins Team Legend.

Who will Gwen choose? Will she save the eliminated contestant? Or will another coach save her? Find out on Tuesday’s (Oct 11) The Voice on NBC at 8 pm ET/PT.
