There were some VERY strong performances tonight, most notably from Lauren Duski, Hunter Plake and Chris Blue. Honorable mentions go to Brennley Brown and Stephanie Rice. My expectations were pretty high for Vanessa Ferguson’s rendition of “Diamonds” and I was a little let down. Time spent glad handing audience members might have distracted her. I don’t think “Diamonds” is a high-five the audience kind of song.
It looks like TSoul may run into trouble this week. Maybe he’ll be in the bottom 2 with Mark Isaiah or Aliyah Moulden. I gave Aliyah a decent review in my recap, but on reflection, the song was a little too mature for her. A 15 year old singing about taking the key to a guy’s apartment? Maybe not.
