The Voice has been conducting casting calls in cities across the US this summer, including, Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Nashville, Houston, Orlando and San Francisco. The Los Angeles casting call took place at the Forum in Inglewood on Wednesday.
The Hollywood Reporter was on hand to interview a few of the hopefuls, and talk with casting director, Michelle McNulty, who also provided a few audition tips. Read the story here.
“We definitely had people who wouldn’t normally come out to a competition show like this come and audition for us, ” McNulty told THR, “Because they’ve seen not only the success of the show, but they’ve seen how the artists are treated on the show. That’s a huge thing.”
Ha. I haven’t given The Voice or its contestants a second thought since June’s finale. If the producers are smart, they are tweaking the show so viewers have more of an opportunity to bond with the contestants.
By the way, Voice winner, Javiar Colon is playing my local 104.1 mixfest here in Boston, so it looks like his people have him out there doing radio stuff. Somebody out there is thinking about him.
Watch video from the auditions below. Even in the absence of trainwreck auditions, there’s still plenty of delusion to go around.
