The Voice 9 Top 10 Perform – Take the POLLS!

The Voice 9 Top 9 Performances – Live Blog and Videos

With five contestants leaving The Voice competition tomorrow, tonight’s performances were do or die for most of the Top 9.

It made for an emotional night full of big performances and personal bests, and songs that reasonated with viewers. Just look at the iTunes charts.

The Voice contestants have completely taken over. Only Adele’s “Hello” is holding on the #2 spot, and Justin Bieber at #4 (“Sorry”) and #10 (“Love Yourself”).

I am super pleased to see Jeffery Austin at #3! Unfortunately, he had already entered the Top 10 before the show was over on the East Coast. Downloads before 9:55 ET do not count as votes. That’s one of the drawbacks of performing early. PEOPLE DON’T DOWNLOAD UNTIL THE SHOW IS OVER!

Despite a truly left-of-center song choice, Madi Davis has entered the Top 10 with Big Girls Don’t Cry. She’s ahead of Amy Vachal, Zach Seabaugh and Barrett Baber. I expect those numbers to shuffle. Overnight last week, Amy leapfrogged past a few contestants. I’m expecting the same this week.

There’s no stopping Jordan Smith. He’s going to win The Voice. Now, the only bit of suspense we’re left is who will join him in the Top 4. Poor Shelby Brown is likely going to be eliminated. No more predictions until the dust settles tomorrow morning.

Dolly Parton was supposed to mentor the contestants, but I guess she got busy, or something. The performance order tonight seemed to be an indication of how the producers wanted the results to shake out. Jordan, Amy and Emily closing the show. Barrett and Shelby as the openers. Both Shelby and Barrett could be eliminated tomorrow. They are definitely members of Team Blake and Team Adam’s B teams.

I had to laugh at Blake and Adam who asked America to vote ALL their team members through, plus contestants on other teams! Math must not be their strong suit. Or they are just disingenuous. I’ll go with the latter.

I’m going to be pretty annoyed if Braiden Sunshine and his pandering hymn advances past worthier singers. But it looks likely he’ll have to sing for the save tomorrow. I’ll hand it to the young man, behind all that sweet innocence, he’s crafty. And ambitious.

iTunes Charts as of 12:41

1. Jordan Smith – Team Adam – Somebody to Love
3. Jeffery Austin – Team Gwen – Believe
5. Emily Ann Roberts – 9 to 5
6. Braiden Sunshine – Team Gwen – Amazing Grace
7. Madi Davis – Team Pharrell – Big Girls Don’t Cry
8. Amy Vachel – Team Adam – To Make You Feel My Love
9. Zach Seabaugh – Team Blake – The Climb
11. Barrett Barber – Team Blake – Ghost
24. Shelby Brown – Team Adam – Even God Must Get the Blues

Here are your polls. With the number of contestants being cut by more than 50% (Only 4 will advance to the finals) I can’t think of how to set up an elimination poll that would provide meaningful data. The poll software I use only allows users to choose one answer.

Instead. Pick a fav!
