Watch as Deanna Johnson wows The Voice coaches and crowd with her version of “All I Want” by Kodaline.
The last time 18 year old Deanna auditioned, NO chairs turned. This time all four coaches–Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Pharrell Williams and Blake Shelton–pushed their buttons.
Adam was the last to turn, much to Blake’s chagrin!
“There’s nobody in the world to compare you to,” says Blake. “Incredible range. You’re not bad looking…I think you’re a star…you don’t want to go with the little people!”
“Don’t be sucked in by the dimples and the accent!” says Christina to Deanna about Blake’s attempts to woo her. “Aahhh can have an accent tooo if I really want one!”
Deanna loves Loretta and Dolly, but she’s a multi-genre singer who she also digs Florence + the Machine!
Pharrell joins Deanna on stage, taking off his hat to humbly ask her to join his team. She’s REALLY tall and wearing super-cool boots. He appreciates her style, as well as her vocals. “I wasn’t here!” Pharrell reminds her about her prior audition. “I wouldn’t have let you gone by.”
Present at that unsuccessful audition was Christina, who told Deanna to work on her high notes. The coach is so impressed with her improvement, “You came out here like a rock star! You owned everything you were doing, and it was really believable.”
Adam thinks there are still some things that need a little bit of work, “My goal is to make you better,” he says, adding that the hopefuls who want to improve go farthest in the competition.
Deanna has a BIG decision to make. Which team will she choose? You’ll have to find out tonight when The Voice premiere week continues at 8/7c pm on NBC.
