The Voice 24 Blind Audition Preview: 15 year old Olivia Eden charms Niall Horan with his song “This Town”
The Voice 24 moves on to Blind Auditions Part 6 Tuesday night (Oct 10). In a new preview, 15 year old Olivia Eden covers Niall Horan’s 2016 debut solo single “This Town.”
Coach Niall begins smiling immediately as she performs and it doesn’t take him long to hit his button. Reba McEntire turns her chair almost immediately afterward. When Olivia finally notices who turned, she giggles, almost losing her cool. “Great song choice” Niall remarks. “I know that one well!” Olivia is so flustered, she is confused about where she should stand, and needs help from the coaches to find her mark.
“Congratulations, you have two wonderful coaches, one of them is possibly your favorite since you picked their song!” says John Legend. He adds, “I think your tone is really beautiful, it has this charm to it that will serve you really well on the show.”
“I really love the yodel that you do, I think that’s going to be your signature thing. You’re going to go far,” states Gwen Stefani.
“You showed off so many different parts of your voice, more than I do…”
“There’s so much maturity to that voice,” Niall says, noting her twang, “I really want to hear you sing country music!” John reminds Niall that he shouldn’t bring up country music while he’s competing with Reba. He probably does not need to worry about that. “You showed off so many different parts of your voice, more than I do, and I wrote the thing.” He ends his remarks, “Thank you for picking my song.”
“I was blown away with that,” says Reba. I started playing honky tonks and barrooms and rodeos when I was 13 and was petrified,” she adds, “Your voice is so incredible and I’m flabbergasted at your vocal ease. You were having such a good time!”
