The Voice is back September 25 at 8/7c on NBC, featuring coaches Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Hudson. Here’s your first extended look at Season 13. Check out the Video below. The focus is on the coaches, as it typically is at this point. But we do get a few glimpses of the upcoming talent.
Veterans Blake Shelton and Adam Levine are back, along with their competitive bromance. Hopefully they’ll freshen up the schtick a little for the new cycle. Miley Cyrus, promoting new music and a new sound, is making a return trip. But the coach I’m looking forward to sitting on the panel is newbie Jennifer Hudson.

“I’ve been in their shoes,” says Jennifer about her role as mentor to reality hopefuls. Of course, she’s talking about her run on American Idol in 2004. “I started out just like you on a stage like this,” she tells an unknown hopeful, “and then later I look up, and Whitney Houston is presenting me my first Grammy.”
I enjoyed Jhud’s run on The Voice UK earlier this year, where she charmed the hopefuls with her enthusiasm and outspoken opinions. Going by the clip, it looks like she’s got the entire panel throwing shoes at the acts. Ha.
