Tonight, season 5 of the wacky singing competition, The Masked Singer continues on to week 10 on FOX.
The competition becomes fierce as the FINAL FOUR remaining celebrities will perform in crazy costumes. ONE will be unmasked by audience vote before the episode ends. After the contestants are presented, with clues, they will perform a song. Then, it’s up to the at home-audience to guess who is behind the mask.
Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke sit on the panel. And Nick Cannon is back as host.
Tonight’s masked celebrities include Black Swan, Piglet, Chameleon, and Yeti. Plus, clue mask, Cluedle-doo, who will be unmasked TONIGHT. The Top 3 heads to next week’s finale.
Tonight’s guest panelist is Darius Rucker from Hootie and the Blowfish.
Yeti
Clues: North Pole Post office. His dad who abandoned him sought him out later and they reconciled.
Performance: Celebration by Kool & the Gang – The big giant dancing sunglasses are srota cool. The fake audience ROCKS OUT. Lord knows to what. Yeti is sounding a little nasally tonight. Daris is very impressed “You brought the party.” It’s time for the Masked Singer Clue Drop. Each remaining mask has a connection with one of the panelists. Yeti’s clue is for Nicole. “I’ll never forget the time we were rubbing elbows down in Santa Monica.” Nicole remembers Marcus Houston or Jay Boug. Ken guesses Justin Bieber. Darius guesses Sisqo.
Prediction: Omarion is the consensus. Find out below if the internets got it right.
Black Swan
Clues: A maple leaf. “Hello my name is 1”
Performance: Tequila by Dan + Shay – With the exit of Hanson last week, Black Swan is hands down the best vocalist remaining. She’s crooning this country hit, and it’s so sweet. Hopefully she makes it into next week’s finale. Ken compliments Black Swan for bringing the audience on an emotional journey. Swan’t connection is to Robin “Robin I’m such a huge fan…it was great bumping into you at that after party.” Ken guesses Shania Twain, Celine Dion…or Bjork. Oh god. Bjork is back. Darius guesses Alanis Morissette. That maple leaf clue is totally throwing them off. Vermont is known for its maple syrup. And Black Swan was born in Vermont. Robin guesses Carly Rae Jepsen. NOPE.
Prediction: GUYS THERE ARE MAPLE TREES IN NEW ENGLAND DON’T GET HUNG UP ON CANADA. Black Swan is most certainly R&B songstress, JoJo, who grew up in Vermont and Massachusetts.
Chameleon
Clues: He’s got confidence and an ability to adapt and adjust. He was always moving as a kid. He trailblaised his own path.
Performance: Oh Boy by Cam’ron ft Juelz Santana – Good for Chameleon sticking to his hip hop guns. Could a celebrity win the Masked Singer with very little singing in their performances? Chameleon may advance to the final, but I don’t think he’ll win. Darius calls his flow awesome. Chameleon is connected to Darius. They performed on the same stage in Phoenix. The reference to corn dogs? Probably a State fair. Darius guesses basketball player Larry Fitzgerald. Jenny thinks its Riff Raff. Ken guesses 2 Chainz.
Prediction: The lean hip hop artist is for sure Wiz Khalifa. Again, Chameleon talked about moving around a lot as a kid. Wiz existed as an army brat until he and his mom settled down in Pittsburgh.
Piglet
Clues: Little Piglet on the Prairie. He had a grueling schedule when he was younger. He’s taking it easier these days. He lives on a farm? He loves football.
Performance: Bruises by Lewis Capaldi – When in doubt? At a crucial point in your singing show journey? PULL OUT SOME LEWIS CAPALDI for some sweet, sweet emotion and drama. It is Piglet’s best performance so far. I don’t think he’s going home tonight. Nicole calls it “perfection.” Piglet is connected to Jenny. “I’ll always go all in for…especially for charity.” They played poker together for charity. Jenny thinks it’s DREW Lachey. Ken guesses Joel Madden of Good Charlotte. Darius guesses Tim McGraw. Oh, c’mon dude. You know that’s not Tim McGraw.
Prediction: Jenny got it right the first time. Piggy is Nick Lachey. Piglet talks a ton about being in a relationship, and how his wife saved him. Nick is married to Vanessa Milano-Lachey, and they’ve starred in TV shows together.
Cluedle-Do Unmasked!
Cluedle is ready to unmask! But first….he’s singing! “Return of the Mack” And he’s good! He’s very SMOOVE. “I still hate you but that was insanely good,” says Ken. Oh the clue is for him. “This is not the first time we’ve been around animals together, but it’s probably the last.” Robin KNOWS the voice but can’t guess. So he gives up and says Jamie Foxx. Nicole is sticking to Jame. Jenny guesses Akon. Darius guesses Kevin James, along with Ken. Hm… And…commercial break. And it’s DONNIE WAHLBERG. How did Jenny not recognize HER HUSBAND? She had to know. SHE HAD TO RECOGNIZE HIS VOICE WHEN HE SANG C’MON. She thought he was Akon? NOT BUYING IT.
ETA: Maybe Donnie didn’t actually show up in the suit until the day FOX taped the unmasking It wouldn’t be the first time the show stretched the truth The character didn’t really get much camera time in the first place, and rarely on stage in front of the judges
Gotta hand it to Donnie though, he was pretty hilarious playing an a-*ole rooster.
Results
And the Yeti is eliminated! Someone in comments pointed out that the celebrity who sings first is often eliminated. That, and Yeti delivered the least entertaining performance. He needed to strap on the ice skates again. First, it’s the judges first impression guesses. Ken: First guess Justin Bieber. He’s sticking to it. Nicole: Jason Derulo but she switches to Mario. Jenny’s first impression guess was Mario. She switches to Ne-Yo. Robin’s first guess was Omarion and he’s WISELY sticking to his gut. Dauris guesses Sisqo. And the Yeti is OMARION! Robin finally gets one right.
