The Masked Singer season 5 premiere ratings on FOX are still pretty great, but not as great as before! The final overnight ratings has Wednesday’s (March 10) The Masked Singer premiere earning a 1.3 rating and 5.6 million viewers overall, easily winning in the 18-49 demo. Chicago Med (1.0, 7.6 million), Chicago Fire (1.0, 7 million) and Chicago PD (0.8, 5.8 million) for ABC all had more overall viewers.

But here’s the thing. The Masked Singer season 1 premiere two years ago (winter 2019) earned a 3.0 in the key demo, and 9.3 million overall viewers. Last fall’s premiered nabbed a 1.6 and 5.9 million viewers.

Further, The Masked Singer premiere only out did The Voice spring premiere by 2/10ths of a point in the key demo and American Idol by 1/10th of a point. Basically, right now, all three shows are earning roughly the same ratings.

After FOX aired 5 seasons of The Masked Singer in two years in addition to a season of the offshoot, The Masked Dancer in January, is viewer fatigue setting in for the Masked franchise?
