Check out previews of the new season of The Glee Project. Season 2 begins on Tuesday, June 5 at 10 PM on Oxygen. Just as we did last year, we’ll be covering it right here!
In the first clip, Glee co-creator, Ryan Murphy, tells the 14 finalists that unlike last year, there will be only ONE winner of the Glee Project Season 2. Of course, Ryan didn’t add that he reserves the right to change his mind or act as if he never said that in the first place! Season 1 produced 4 winners. Damian McGinty and Samuel Larsen were co-winners, while Lindsay Pearce and Alex Newell were runner-ups. All earned guest starring roles on Glee Season 3.
The second clip features Lea Michele as the Glee Project’s first mentor. When she’s introduced, the kids go ape-shit. One young girl, Lily Mae, is moved to tears. After the Glee star watches Lily perform, she calls her beautiful and praises her voice. Lily, as you can imagine, is thrilled to receive praise from her Idol.
Cory Monteith and Naya Rivera are also set to mentor.
The third video is the entire hour-long casting special. If you plan on following the Glee Project, I suggest you watch it. It details the casting process from the open casting calls in cities across the country, to the Top 80 then the Top 30 where Ryan Murphy becomes involved in choosing the final 14. It gives you a pretty good feel for who most of the cast members are. It ends with the first cast video, “Edge of Glory.”
I LOVED covering this last summer and am happy to be back for more. See you Tuesday!
