Dana and Matt won the last leg of the race, so they are the first to depart. They learn their next destination is Cartagena, Colombia. They must proceed to Totumo. They are followed by the other teams on the way to the airport. On the way there, we learn that Dana and Matt are engaged, but Matt wants to make sure their businesses are in order before they finally get married. Zach is not used to not having his phone, but Rachel likes that they don’t have their phones for a month. We also learn Darius and Cameron are very smart and can each solve a Rubik’s Cube very quickly.
At the airport, Dana and Matt, Tyler and Korey, and Brodie and Kurt book tickets on the first flight. The other teams get a spot on the second flight except for Marty and Hagan and Darius and Cameron. Marty and Hagan will be on the third flight. Darius and Cameron were one of the first four teams to arrive at the airport, but they are on the fourth and last flight to Cartagena.
At Cartagena, Colombia the first flight arrives. They make their way to Totumo and learn they have a Roadblock to complete. One team member must submerge into mud inside a volcano and find a satchel that contains an emerald. They must deliver the emerald to someone who will point out the clue box out into the water. Dana and Brodie do the Roadblock for their respective teams. Brodie found the emerald before Dana even begins. Brodie goes out into the ocean to where a clue box awaits. He learns the next destination is Manzanillo del Mar, and he and Kurt can now make their way there. Burnie and Ashley and Tyler and Korey arrive at the Roadblock too. Ashley and Korey begin the Roadblock for their respective teams.
Dana finds a pink stone, but mistakenly believes it is an emerald. Korey found an emerald right away, but dropped it. He is unable to spot where it fell, so he tries finding another one. Dana is told the stone she found is not an emerald, so she has to redo the task. But she does finally find an emerald, and so does Ashley.
The second, third, and fourth flights arrive at Cartagena as Korey finds a second emerald. He and Tyler can proceed to Manzanillo del Mar too. Meanwhile, Marty and Hagan’s taxi is very slow and is giving Darius and Cameron a chance to catch up. Other teams have already arrived at the Roadblock with Blair and Joslyn doing the Roadblock for their respective teams.
It’s time for the Detour! Teams can either do Pop-Up or Parrilla. Pop-Up requires teams to build a shady shack. Once they have properly construct it, they can call in some locals to play some tunes in there before they get their next clue. Parrilla requires teams to grill fish and prepare a meal for some locals. The first four teams all choose Pop Up. Meanwhile, Blair, Rachel, Cole, and Brittany are now working on the Roadblock. Marty and Hagan and Darius and Cameron are still in the back of the pack as they are making their way to the Roadblock.
While the four teams in the lead are working on the Pop-Up Detour, Blair, Rachel, Cole, and Brittany find their emeralds. They can now make their way to the Detour. Marty and Hagan and Darius and Cameron finally arrive at the Roadblock, with Hagan and Cameron doing the Roadblock for their respective teams.
Dana and Matt and Brodie and Kurt believe they have finished constructing their shacks, but are told they are wrong. They did not construct the canopy correctly. Tyler and Korey, however, are correct and now in first place. They receive their next clue and learn they can now make their way to the Pit Stop: Plaza Bolivar.
Cameron finds an emerald before Hagan does, putting Marty and Hagan in last place. Zach and Rachel and Sheri and Cole begin the Pop-Up Detour as Brodie and Kurt finally finish it. They can now make their way to the Pit Stop too. Meanwhile, Erin and Joslyn are beginning the Parrilla Detour as Hagan is still struggling to find an emerald at the Roadblock.
Before they can begin the Detour, Scott and Blair have a Speed Bump to complete. They must help local fisherman pull in a fishing net from the ocean before they can continue on. Meanwhile, Dana and Matt realize they did not construct their shack properly. Dana is angry with Matt and vents her frustrations to him as Burnie and Ashley finish the Detour and can make their way to the Pit Stop.
Brittany and Jessica begin grilling fish for the Parrilla Detour as Tyler and Korey greet Phil as Team #1. They win a trip to St. Thomas. Back at the Roadblock, Hagan finally finds an emerald. She and Marty can finally make their way to the Detour.
Zach and Rachel also mess up constructing their shack. They realize this as Scott and Blair complete their Speed Bump and choose the Parrilla Detour. Over at the Pit Stop, Brodie and Kurt greet Phil as Team #2, and Burnie and Ashley greet Phil as Team #3.
Darius and Cameron arrive at the Detour location, but without the clue telling them to go there. They have to go back and get the clue that informs them of which Detour to do. Dana and Matt finally finish the Pop-Up Detour as Erin and Joslyn have to redo the Parrilla Detour after losing a fish’s head while it was grilling. Scott and Blair are having trouble grilling fish too as Scott drops a fish on the ground. They have to start over as well.
Darius and Cameron finally find the clue for the Detour as Dana and Matt greet Phil as Team #4. Scott and Blair believe they have finished grilling their fish, but are told that the fish is not ready. Brittany and Jessica and Erin and Joslyn do properly finish grilling their fish, though. They are now in 5th place and 6th place respectively as they make their way to the Pit Stop.
Zach and Rachel and Sheri and Cole finally finish the Pop-Up Detour and can make their way to the Pit Stop now. Quickly afterwards, Scott and Blair finish grilling their fish and can make their way to the Pit Stop too. Only Darius and Cameron and Marty and Hagan remain, and both teams have chosen to grill fish too.
Erin and Joslyn, Zach and Rachel, and Brittany and Jessica arrive at the Pit Stop simultaneously. They are in fifth place, sixth place, and seventh place respectively. Later on, Sheri and Cole arrive at the Pit Stop as Team #8.
Marty and Hagan finish grilling their fish before Darius and Cameron do. However, they decided to run to the Detour instead of taking a taxi there like all the other teams did. This puts them at an obvious disadvantage and gives Darius and Cameron a chance to catch up.
Scott and Blair arrive at the Pit Stop as Team #9 when Darius and Cameron finish grilling their fish. They get into their taxi and even pass a sprinting Marty and Hagan on the way to the Pit Stop. As they watch Darius and Cameron driving away, Marty and Hagan know they are done.
Darius and Cameron greet Phil as Team #10. Marty and Hagan do get in a taxi and arrive at the Pit Stop shortly afterwards with Darius and Cameron still on the mat. Phil informs Marty and Hagan that they are the last team to arrive. Marty and Hagan have been eliminated from the race.
