Tonight is the season finale of The Amazing Race. Which team will win the $1 million prize? Engaged couple Dana and Matt, mother and son Sheri and Cole, or best friends Tyler and Korey? Let’s find out!

The episode begins with Phil informing the Final 3 they will be racing to Los Angeles. They also will get to fly premium class on the way there. Once they arrive in LA, they must proceed to Angelus Plaza. The teams board their flight, all determined to win the race.

They arrive at Los Angeles, and Dana and Matt are the first to find the clue box. They learn there is a Roadblock where one team member will have to take a leap of faith off a building and grab the clue that is dangling out a few feet in front of them. If they don’t manage to grab the clue on their first attempt, they must try again. Matt chooses to do the Roadblock. Sheri and Cole are the second to find the clue box while Tyler and Korey are lost.

Tyler and Korey finally do find the clue box though. Matt and Sheri are getting ready to attempt the Roadblock as Tyler chooses to do it. Matt jumps and he grabs the clue on his first attempt. He learns he and Dana must now take a helicopter ride to Santa Barbara and go to a harbor to find the Theresa Ann. Sheri is the next to jump off, but she’s really scared and doesn’t know if she will be able to do it. Sheri jumps, but she didn’t manage to grab the clue. She has to redo it. Tyler jumps off the building, and he also does not get the clue on his first attempt. Dana and Matt maintain their lead.

Sheri grabs the clue on her second attempt. She and Cole are still in second place. Tyler jumps for the clue once more, and he misses again. However, Tyler does manage to get it on his third attempt. All teams are now on helicopters on the way to Santa Barbara.

Dana and Matt find their marked dingy at the harbor. They have to look for the Theresa Ann, the name of a boat. They find it and get their next clue. They must now proceed to Gibraltar Rock to find their next clue. Meanwhile, Sheri and Cole arrive at the harbor next. However, they sail right past the boat they need to get to. They think they need to find a museum instead of a boat. In addition, Dana and Matt are losing their lead after they let their taxi driver go and are having difficulty finding another taxi.

Dana and Matt get a new taxi as Sheri and Cole finally realize they are supposed to be looking for a boat. Sheri and Cole are still searching for the Theresa Ann as Tyler and Korey arrive at the harbor to begin the task. Sheri and Cole complete the task before Tyler and Korey find it the boat. However, Sheri and Cole’s taxi driver does not know where the Gibraltar Rock is. As Sheri and Cole search for another taxi, Tyler and Korey finish the task too. Tyler and Korey also manage to get in a taxi before Sheri and Cole do. However, Sheri and Cole get into a taxi as well. All teams are on the way to Gibraltar Rock, with Dana and Matt arriving there first.

Dana and Matt open the clue, and they learn they must do a  Tyrolean Traverse task. They each must rappel to collect one half of a clue. Once they both retrieve their halves, they will get their next clue. Meanwhile, Tyler and Korey’s taxi driver is lost and does not know where to go. She’s also having trouble reading the directions on the phone too. Back at the rappelling task, Dana and Matt complete the task. Just as Sheri and Cole arrive, Dana and Matt depart for their next location: Grassini Family Vineyards. Sheri and Cole begin the Tyrolean Traverse task before Tyler and Korey arrive.

Tyler and Korey arrive before Sheri and Cole complete the task. However, they manage to finish the task before Tyler and Korey do. The placements remain the same with Dana and Matt in the lead, Sheri and Cole in second, and Tyler and Korey in third. However, it seems like the teams are only minutes apart from each other.

Dana and Matt arrive at the vineyard. After having difficulty finding the clue box, they finally get started. They must use barrel lids to spell out the hashtags from clues along the race that relate to the cities they visited. Dana knew the hashtags were going to be important, so she’s confident she will excel at this task since she studied them all. Dana has already made a lot of progress on the task before Sheri and Cole or Tyler and Korey arrive. She also finishes the task before the other teams arrive too. Dana and Matt can now race to the Finish Line!

Cole and Korey finally get started on the hashtags task before Dana and Matt arrive at the Finish Line. However, it’s too late as Dana and Matt do manage to arrive at the Finish Line. They see Phil and the cheering eliminated teams as they sprint towards the Finish Line.

DANA AND MATT WIN THE AMAZING RACE!

Dana and Matt discuss how they bickered a lot throughout the race, but they say they would rather be passionate than boring. They believe the race has brought them closer together. Afterwards, we see Sheri and Cole arriving at the Finish Line in second place. Sheri and Cole are proud of themselves and grateful for the experience of racing the entire race. Cole says it has been a blessing, and Sheri tears up after Phil tells them that their family will be so proud of them. Tyler and Korey arrive in third place. Tyler says he is so glad he ran the race with Korey and that they had a lot of fun. Korey tears up as he says he looks up to Tyler despite being four years older than him. Dana and Matt says the race has been such an incredible experience and one they cannot put into words.
