NBC Sets Premiere Dates for “The Voice” and “Smash”

It’s NBC day at the Television Critics Association sessions today in Los Angeles, and NBC used its executive panel to announce the season premieres of mid-season shows, The Voice and the Katharine McPhee vehicle, Smash.

The Voice gets a big debut following the Super Bowl on Sunday Feb. 5. It will settle into its regular slot on Monday, Feb. 6 at 8/9c pm. Smash will follow with its network debut at 10/9c pm.

Columbia Records to Release ‘Smash’ Music, Katharine McPhee Solo Deal

Congratulations to Katharine McPhee. Starring in the new NBC drama, Smash has its perks–she just signed a solo record deal with Columbia records. The label will also release music from the soundtrack of the show.

Very good news for Season 5 runner up, Katharine McPhee. Smash, the pilot she shot set around the drama of producing a Broadway musical has been picked up by NBC.

Besides Katharine, the new series will feature Debra Messing, Angelina Huston, and Broadway stars including Megan Hilty, Christian Borle and Brian d’Arcy James.
