  1. SYTYCD ratings are disappointing but expected. I hope we get another season out if it. It’s my fav of the talent-based shows out there.

  2. There’s no suspense for this season. Some people probably decided to wait and watch the vids. The only surprising thing for me was how many Sonya and Travis routines that were reprised??

  3. Actually, the predictable thing would have been for Nigel to blow Rickey’s changes by declaring him the winner over and over again. I was actually shocked Rickey won, although I thought he was definitely the most deserving followed by Zack. I would have put Tanisha third, but she didn’t make the final 4 (which is predictable)

  4. An exclusively All-Star season (meaning no new contestants) would be a great final last season for the show. One can only hope.

  5. This is by far my favorite talent based show! However there was no suspense element as to who was going to win this season. Nigel et al made it perfectly clear that Ricky was the guy and he did deserve the crown. But personally it diluted the whole season finale for me.

  6. I don’t want a final season, but with these ratings, we’ll be lucky to see one more season. I love this show, the judges, and the dancers. I will be sad when it’s gone.

  7. A little suspense might have helped the ratings, especially with those who didn’t want Ricky to win.

  8. It is normal for a person to have some anxiety over their favorites if they’d been the frontrunner all season. They keep thinking something will happen to mess things up. But others can see the outcome barring injury or poorly performed routines. Nigel hasn’t blown any of his favorites’ chances once they make top 10–Amy, Eliana, Melanie…

  9. I look forward to this show every summer. So much talent and heart on that stage. I despised Nigel on AI but love him on this show. Go figure. I never watch this show to see who ends up winning. I’m caught up in each and ever dance. From the first auditions to the confetti falling, it captivates me. If this show doesn’t return next year I’ll be heartbroken. But, having Ricky, the best dancer IMO, win most favorite dancer would be a fitting end.

  10. Anxiety?? Sorry, I don’t take these shows serious enough to have any emotional involvement. And, Rickey was not my favorite. I thought he was the best dancer, but the best dancer is rarely my fav. Heck, I don’t even bother to vote.

  11. This is my favorite talent based reality show, too. The nice thing, and I think commendable thing, is that other than dropping the results night, the show hasn’t l change in quality. Judges are still good, and the dancers are still wonderful, as were so, so many of the routines this year. It hasn’t seen the deterioration in quality that Idol has, and I think Fox would be wise to look at it in that perspective.

  12. That’s great that you don’t take it seriously because it is just a TV show. They are going to cast and manipulate according to what’s best for them.

I will hate it if the show ends but it has gone on for 10 years. Who would’ve thunk it?

  13. SYTYCD has always been my favorite of the two dance shows on tv. However, I do not like the new format, now in it’s second year, of not having a separate results night.
