Survivor Season 46 Week 6 Recap and Live Blog

A new episode of Survivor 46 airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap here.

Siga returns to camp after tribal council. Moriah was left out of the vote. Everyone else voted for Jem, but she voted for Ben. Ben tells her to “don’t sweat it.” Tim also tries to reassure Moriah that she’s still part of the tribe. Moriah is conflicted. Her tribe members lied to her, but she wants to trust them since no one voted for her either.

The next morning, the castaways learn the tribes are going to merge. Yanu and Siga will be moving to the Nami beach. Tiffany says it’s the best feeling to go into the merge with her two closest allies. Tim wants to be Siga strong, but he’s willing to sacrifice Moriah. Moriah says she would rather work with the devil she knows rather than the devil she doesn’t know.

After the Nami tribe members learn the other tribes will be joining them, Hunter gets the next instructions to find his hidden immunity idol. The clue tells him to look under the steps by camp. He has to try to find the key without anyone noticing. He digs under the steps, and he finally finds the key. He manages to get the hidden immunity idol out of the box without anyone noticing. Soon afterwards, the new castaways arrive at the Nami beach.

Getting to know you

The castaways get to know each other. They don’t have merge buffs yet. Tim wants to protect Siga’s numbers. He tells others it was a unanimous vote against Jem so no one tries to scoop up Moriah as a number. Venus tells Q she wants to work with the Yanu tribe members. Venus is over Tevin and Soda’s attitude towards her. She said Tevin was the Nami king, but she’s ready for some power. Tevin tells Q and Tiffany to watch out for Venus.

At the Journey in the prior episode, Q, Hunter, and Tim discussed forming a six-person alliance with Tiffany, Tevin, and Maria. Q and Tevin catch up, and they are still on board with this proposed alliance. Q calls them the Journey 6. Hunter and Tiffany are on board too. Q and Hunter are still unsure about Tim and Maria though. Q chats with Maria about the Journey 6, but Maria is surprised Tim named her his closest ally. In her confessional, Maria says her closest ally is Charlie. Tim would’ve been #3 on her list. Q realizes Maria was not filled in, so he goes talk to Tim. Tim says he’ll sort it out before nighttime. However, in his confessional, Tim says he doesn’t want to commit too early.

The following morning, Venus talks to Moriah and Tim. She says Siga is too much of a closed book right now. Venus asks for names, but Moriah and Tim are unwilling to give her any. Venus says Moriah seems like a sweet girl. She has hopes Moriah will come around to talking strategy with her. In her confessional, Moriah says she doesn’t want to work with Venus. She comes across as too crafty. She knows Venus is the crack within the Nami tribe.

Immunity challenge

Tim finally lets Maria know about the Journey 6. Maria says she’s on board with this, but she doesn’t know why Tim waited to tell her. However, in her confessional, Maria says she’s not going to play Tim’s game. She’ll make the decision that suits her game better.

Q notices the Siga tribe is being too tight-lipped. He later chats with Moriah to try to put the pieces of the Siga tribe together. Moriah lies that it was a unanimous vote against Jem. She wants to stay Siga strong, and she’s also nervous about Q. She says he’s being very strategic with his conversations. After their conversation, Q tells Hunter that Moriah is dangerous. Moriah told Q that the past player she relates to the most is Aubry from Survivor: Kaôh Rong. He thinks Moriah could be a dangerous player just like Aubry.

It’s time for the immunity challenge. They will be divided into two groups. They must work together to make their way through a series of obstacles. At the end is a puzzle, and everyone must solve a section of the puzzle. The first group to win will earn a merge meal and immunity at tribal council. Everyone will be at tribal council to cast a vote. They will draw rocks to determine their groups. Since they have an odd number of castaways, the person to draw the gray rock will have to sit out and bet on one of the groups.

Orange – Charlie, Maria, Moriah, Soda, Liz, and Venus

Purple – Hunter, Q, Tim, Tevin, Ben, and Kenzie

Tiffany draws the gray rock. Everyone notices how the Purple group is physically stronger than the Orange group. Tiffany bets on the Purple group.

Challenge begins

The challenge begins. Although the groups seem lopsided, the Orange group gets an early lead. The Purple group eventually take the lead halfway through the obstacles. Tim and Tevin begin the first section of the puzzle. Kenzie and Ben work on the second section as Orange finally starts the puzzle. Maria and Liz work on the first section for their group. Soda and Moriah begin their section of the puzzle while Kenzie and Ben are struggling. Kenzie and Ben finally finish, but the Orange group is very close behind. Hunter and Q start working on the puzzle seconds before Charlie and Venus. Hunter places the last pieces of the puzzle for the Purple group. Hunter, Q, Tim, Tevin, Ben, Kenzie, and Tiffany win immunity!

Kenzie says this is a turning point for the former Yanu tribe members. Kenzie, Tiffany, and Q are safe. There are three former Siga tribe members and three former Nami tribe members vulnerable tonight. During the reward meal, Tevin says he doesn’t trust Venus. Ben and Tim are unwilling to throw out a Siga name to put on the chopping block. Eventually, after added pressure, Tim throws out Moriah’s name. Tevin asks them to decide between Venus or Moriah. Tiffany thinks Moriah could be more of a threat than Venus. Tim says they should vote for Venus tonight. In her confessional, Tiffany sees how Tim and Ben are unwilling to target a Siga tribe member. She knows they want to stay Siga strong, so this makes her want to vote out Moriah tonight instead of Venus.

Complicating the vote

After the meal, the immune castaways return to camp. Tim lets Charlie know what was discussed. He says Venus and Moriah are on the chopping block. Charlie doesn’t want Moriah to go, but he’s willing to sacrifice her if it means staying safe tonight. Hunter tells Q that they need to break up the Siga tribe tonight. Tiffany later tells Venus that she needs to vote for Moriah to save herself tonight. Venus suggests voting for Charlie instead of Moriah. In her confessional, Venus says a man should be voted out, and Charlie is the only vulnerable man tonight. Later, Venus tells Soda and Kenzie that they should vote for Charlie tonight.

Kenzie says that Venus is complicating the vote tonight. She lets Q and Tevin know that Venus doesn’t want to vote for Moriah tonight. This frustrates Q. He told Venus that it’s either her or Moriah going home tonight, so why would she try to save Moriah? He realizes Venus wants to keep the women in the majority, so Q says he’s going to vote for Venus tonight.

Tevin says that he always knew he couldn’t trust Venus, so he’s fine with Venus getting voted out tonight. Kenzie says this could’ve been a straightforward vote if Venus just went along with the plan to vote for Moriah. Hunter and Tiffany still think the plan is to vote for Moriah, but Q and Tevin let them know that Venus is making the plan complicated. Hunter says Venus is going to get herself voted out tonight. In her confessional, Tiffany says she’s glad she has immunity because tribal council is going to be chaotic.

Tribal council

It’s time for tribal council. Tevin says even though he’s safe tonight, he needs to be very aware since it will add up to what happens next time. Q is happy that he’s safe. He says they will see how things shake out tonight. Charlie says he’s not taking any shots tonight. He’s just playing defensively. Venus says they can still play offensively. Hunter says the former Yanu tribe members can determine which tribe loses a number. Hunter candidly says that Siga is very close.

As a response, Moriah confesses she was on the outs of the last vote. She claims she’s on the bottom, and Moriah says it’s up to Yanu to decide what they want to do with his information. Q says this is the first time he’s hearing about Moriah being on the outs. Q says Moriah should’ve expressed that before tribal council. That was valuable information that should’ve been brought up before now. Tim says everyone at the merge meal knew who to vote for tonight since a name was agreed. Venus says she heard her name a lot. Venus hopes people can see the value she can bring to them. Moriah claims she’s the most honest person at this tribal council. Afterwards, it’s time to vote.

Before Jeff reads the votes, Moriah plays her Shot in the Dark advantage. Her scroll says “Not Safe.”

The first vote is for…

Venus

Moriah

Moriah

Moriah

Moriah

Moriah

Moriah

Moriah is the sixth person voted out of Survivor 46.

And that wraps up tonight’s episode of Survivor 46. Thanks for reading, and come back next week for another live recap.
