Survivor 37 David vs Goliath Week 11 Recap and Live Blog

A new episode of Survivor: David vs. Goliath airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap and join the discussion here.

The episode begins with Nick, Angelina, and Davie reacting to Carl getting voted out. Nick says it was a bad decision since they lost the numbers advantage against the Goliaths. Christian assures Nick that they are fine, but Nick admits in his confessional that he’s now targeting Christian. He says the alliance he has with him is over.

The next day, the castaways gather for a reunion with their loved ones. They include Davie’s mother, Alison’s mother, Kara’s brother, Nick’s father, Gabby’s mother, Angelina’s mother, Mike’s boyfriend, and Christian’s girlfriend. After tearful reunions, the reward challenge begins. They’re playing for time with their loved ones. They will be divided into pairs to dig up keys while chained together. They must then collect balls and toss them up on a perch. Mike and Davie, Angelina and Nick, Alison and Kara, and Christian and Gabby are the teams. The duo that completes the challenge first are Angelina and Nick. They started the challenge way behind the other teams, but they manage to land their balls on the perch first. Angelina and Nick win reward! They’re allowed to choose two people to join them. Nick picks Davie and Angelina picks Mike. The four castaways and their loved ones will enjoy a picnic reward.

During the reward, the four castaways tell each other that they want to be the Final 4 of the game. Angelina, Nick, and Mike are all on board, but Davie admits his doubts in his confessional. He says he’s the clear outsider of the foursome since the other three spent more time together on the Jabeni tribe. He’s unsure if he wants to move forward with those three.

Meanwhile, Gabby wants to blindside Christian. She’s been his closest ally throughout the game, but she’s aware that people view her as Christian’s sidekick. She doesn’t think anyone has a chance against him in this game, so she wants him out. She shares her thoughts with Alison and Kara, and they are all on board with voting Christian out.

It’s time for the immunity challenge. It’s another endurance competition that requires the castaways to stand on a perch while balancing a small pole on their hand. If they lift the pole too high, it will trigger a bucket to dump water on their heads and eliminate them from the competition. The challenge begins, and Mike and Gabby are the first two eliminated. Alison is the next one to be eliminated from the challenge, leaving five left to compete. She’s soon followed by Angelina. Only four people remain: Davie, Kara, Christian, and Nick. Angelina and Gabby are giving advice to Nick who looks close to dropping, which is noted by everyone else. Christian asks for advice from the spectators, but they don’t say anything except that Nick looked way too obvious. They explain that’s why they were offering him advice. However, Nick is the next to drop from the challenge. He’s soon followed by Christian, and Davie is the last one eliminated. Kara wins immunity!

The tribe returns to camp, and Gabby is ready to make a move against Christian. She says taking out her closest ally will be a big move since he’s the biggest threat in the game. She says she needs to make this move to give her a better chance at winning the game. Gabby misleads Christian into thinking she’s on board with voting out Alison. Meanwhile, Gabby approaches Nick and Davie with the plan to blindside Christian. Nick is completely on board since Christian lied to him at the prior tribal council. They’re aware Christian has a hidden immunity idol, so they want Gabby to be a backup target. Angelina and Mike are told of the plan too. Davie admits in his confessional that he doesn’t want Christian to go since he wants to still use him as a shield. Davie later approaches Christian, and he tells Christian the plan to blindside him. He tells him that Gabby and Nick want him gone. Christian is stunned that Gabby is turning on him, but he chooses to try to make amends with Nick instead. Christian apologizes for lying to him last time, and Nick makes it seem like he has forgiven him. However, Nick says in his confessional that he’ll never trust Christian again. Christian is aware he’ll be receiving votes, but he hopes he won’t have to play his hidden immunity idol tonight. He says he’ll decide whether or not to play it at tribal council.

It’s time for tribal council. Jeff asks about the fallout from the blindside at the last tribal council. Angelina tells Jeff that people were “pissed,” and Jeff asks who was upset. She says Nick was mad, and Nick admits that he was. He says it may have been a big move, but he doesn’t think it was the right move. Christian is aware he made a decision that hurt people’s feelings, and Nick says he and Christian talked it out and are good now. Jeff asks Gabby her thoughts, and she says she wants to make moves with gumption moving forward. Alison is aware her name was on the chopping block last time, and she’s afraid she’s now even more of a threat since she was able to survive the vote and helped pull off a big move. After they talk about threats, Mike says the game is about deception and they’re all conscious of it. Afterwards, it’s time for the vote.

Before Jeff reads the votes, Christian plays his hidden immunity idol for himself.

The first vote is for…
