Kherington Payne and Twitch – Hip Hop by Napoleon & Tabitha – Song: …Dont Touch Me Now by Busta Rhymes – VIDEO – I don’t know, I thought Kherington danced hip-hop like a dorky white chick in spots, I didn’t buy her as a fly girl, exactly. Twitch, on the other hand, totally hit it. The judges loved the routine. Only Alan had some minor criticisms for Kheringoton. Nigel began his critique m out with a “Let’s start with the good news” deal, but then was all “nothing bad to say!” at the end of his remarks. Ha ha! Fooled you!
Courtney Galiano and Gev Manoukian – Rumba by Tony Meredith and Melanie LaPatin – Song: …Wishing on a Star by Rose Royce – VIDEO – Courtney and Gev are growing on me by leaps as bounds. They are sensational here, dancing an extremely sexy Rumba. This was their best routine yet. The pair are developing into quite the cute couple. The judges were extremely pleased with this hot hot number.
Comfort Fedoke and Chris Jarosz – Jazz by Tyce Diorio – Song: …Beautiful People by Marilyn Manson – VIDEO – After Comfort and Chris finish their routine, and after the judges kinda chew them a new one, and after Chris explains that the two of them are supposed to be African warriors going through all sorts of difficult trials, I knew the two of them completely missed the boat. Because I didn’t get that AT ALL from the way they danced that routine. Comfort and Chris’s soft, wobbly routine will probably land them in the bottom again this week. And maybe home.
Jessica King and William Wingfield – Disco by Doriana Sanchez – Song: …Heaven Must Have Sent You by Bonnie Pointer – VIDEO VIDEO – Jessica steps it up on a notch from last week in this disco routine, according to the judges. Still, she’s no match for Will, a mega-talented dancer who has excelled in every style the pair has tackled. Another way to look at it–Jessica should thank Will that she’s still around, and probably will not be eliminated this week.
Kourtni Lind and Matt Dorame – Contemporary by Sonya Tayeh – Song: …Wrestlers by Hot Chip – VIDEO – I loved, loved LOVED this routine, and finally we get to see what Kourtni and Matt are really capable of as contemporary dancers. Sonya Tayeh is a new choregrapher this year. I hope she and her crazy mohawk are back to choreograph more routines. Kourtni and Matt get the best marks yet from the judging panel.
Chelsea Traille and Thayne Jasperson – Quickstep by Heather Smith – …You Cant Hurry Love by Phil Collins – VIDEO – Eep. Chelsea and Thayne’s awkward quickstep is surely going to land them in the Bottom 3 this week, at the very least. Chelsea bounces around the stage gracelessly as Thayne attempts to keep the dance together–all the while keeping a big, goofy grin plastered on his face. Mary is so disappointed, she takes Chelsea off the Hot Tamale train, and tells Thayne he’s hanging on, barely.
Chelsie Hightower and Mark Kanemura – Hip Hop by Napoleon & Tabitha – Song: …Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis – VIDEO – The emotion and passion on the faces of Chelsie and Mark is enough to keep me riveted as Mark and Chelsie move effortlessly through this beautiful routine. The judges rave, as well they should.
Katee Shean and Joshua Allen – Samba by Tony Meredith and Melanie LaPatin – Song: …Baila Baila by Angela Via – VIDEO – These two dance a Samba that’s impeccable, fun and sexy. Their chemistry leaps off the screen. Mary is so excited, they not only get a big loud scream, but also two first class tickets on the Hot Tamale train. These two are in it for the long haul.
