In the aftermath of the bloody X Factor massacre that had Simon Cowell axing Steve Jones, Nicole Scherzinger and surprisingly, Paula Abdul, its time to start up those ridiculous tabloid stories about who might sit at the judges panel for Season 2. First up? The Daily Mail is reporting that Simon is offering Beyonce a butt load of cash to sign a 5 year contract.
Five years? Oh Simon. Aren’t YOU optimistic!
Simon Cowell is said to have offered Beyonce an incredible $100m per year if she signs up as a judge for five seasons of X Factor USA. The music mogul is apparently keen to snag the world famous superstar in his bid to revive the talent show when it returns later this year.
If Beyonce accepts, it would make her one of the highest paid entertainers in the industry and the $500m deal far exceeds the fee of previous judges.
MediaTakeOut.com claims to have spoken to a very reliable insider, citing it as the same person that revealed Jennifer Lopez was joining American Idol last year.
Beyonce – who gave birth to baby Blue Ivy last month – appeared as a guest singer and mentor on the British X Factor back in 2008 where she duetted with Alexandra Burke – who went on to win the show that year.
Her former Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland appeared as a judge on last year’s UK show too.
HA HA HA. Rumor has it Simon wants Mariah on the panel too. The R&B diva’s husband, Nick Cannon, basically told his radio audience this morning that Mimi is too famous to judge X Factor, “Why would would my wife want to be on a show like that? For somebody who has a legendary career, I don’t know why they would do that.”
So yeah…Simon? Good luck replacing Nicole and Paula with “big stars”.
