Kelly Clarkson had an extra special pick for her “What I’m Liking” segment on Tuesday’s The Kelly Clarkson Show. Instead of a cute meme or video, Kelly is liking fellow American Idol winner Scotty McCreery.
“Usually I share a cute video from social media or a story that will melt your heart,” said Kelly before introducing the season 10 winner. “Today though I am liking a country star and fellow American Idol alum.” She continued with her introduction, “He’s done amazing things since he won back in 2011–topping the Billboard charts and also dropping five albums.”
Kelly goes on to name check Scotty’s new album, Same Truck. “It features a song that pays tribute to the king of country,” Kelly then interjects, “NOT YOU SHELTON!” referring to her The Voice nemesis, Blake Shelton.
The American Idol OG winner uses her “What I’m Liking” segment to introduce a video clip of Scotty performing his latest single, “Damn Strait.” It’s a song that not only pays tribute to country legend George Strait, but also damns him to hell for reminding the song’s protagonist of his old girlfriend!
