Harry Styles released “Sign of the Times” today and it promptly went to number 1 on the iTunes chart compressing it. The next highest single from Bruno Mars currently has less than 15% of the sales rate as Harry’s song. Pentatonix also dropped a new album today.
As for the sales for the past week, Mastadon (Progressive Metal) has the top selling album of the week while Drake has the top combined album. Miranda Lambert, originally from the singing reality competition show “Nashville Star”, debuts at 5th in sales and 8th combined.
Aso debuting an album this week is AGT’s Jackie Evancho. She was one of the show’s early successes (appearing on Season 5 back in 2010). She had several successful albums and recently sang the anthem at the Presidential Inauguration. Her latest album “Two Hearts” debuts at 36 in sales.
Carrie Underwood’s duet with Keith Urban is moving up the charts and was recently performed on a Country Awards show. That helped to propel Keith’s album to 9th in sales and 10th on combined. Also appearing on albums are Tori Kelly (“Sing” – 14/22), Niall Horan & Fifth Harmony (“NOW 61” – 18/37), Kelly Clarkson (Reba’s Album – 22/43) and Zay (“Fifty Shades of Darker” – 45 on SPS).
