With 86% of reports in, Nick Jonas is headed to the top of the album sales chart. That would be the first time he is first in sales with his 2010 “Who Am I” debuting at 3rd and his 2014 “Nick Jonas” reaching no higher than 6th. But, we are cursed with a split chart yet again (remember when people thought that might be rare? It’s been weeks since that didn’t happen). The usual culprit is Drake who will stream himself to first. Nick had previously gotten to number one on sales twice when he was with the Jonas Brothers.
Jon Billion (Hip Hop) is debuting in second with his first ever album (although, he has released mixed tapes in the past), Beyonce’s “Lemonade” is third followed by Drake’s “Views”. Yet another Country Awards show occurred a little while ago, so Chris Stapleton travels back into the top 10 (although he hasn’t been very far from it since last year). The Tony’s were on the weekend and “Hamilton” was heavily featured (and won 11 awards), so it will hit a new high at 6th. The latest Country version of Now is out (9th version) and it lacks reality singing competitors while debuting at 8th. Voice coach Blake Shelton sticks around for 8th, Paul McCartney debuts in 9th and Kaleo (Icelandic Rock) is 10th.
Carrie Underwood is the only reality singing competitor currently in the top 50 on the chart and she is at 48th. She also has a duet on Idol judge Keith Urban’s album “Ripcord” at 13th. Kelly Clarkson and Zayn have tracks on Now 58 at 21st.
