After conquering the worlds of radio and TV hosting, reality TV and entertainment news production, it’s time for Ryan to conquer the world of scripted television.
Hell, why not? A billion jobs? What’s one more? On the heels of announcing a new reality show following a group of young, wealthy LA Persians, Deadline is reporting that Ryan is finalizing a deal with Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein to adapt the best-selling 2002 book, The Nanny Diaries.
The Nanny Diaries, which will be laid off at ABC Studios, will be based on the 2002 bestselling book by former Manhattan nannies Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus, which the Weinstein Co. turned into a feature in 2007 with Scarlett Johansson and Laura Linney and Paul Giamatti starring. It is a satiric look at upper class Manhattan society through the eyes of the nannies who work for them.
The Nanny Diaries is to be written by Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive produced by Ryan.
