Reportedly, the lawyer of the stylist accusing Ryan Seacrest of misconduct against his client tried to squeeze the American Idol host for a payday.

TMZ reports that the stylist, who worked with Seacrest at E! News, alleges that he engaged in various forms of misconduct from 2007 to 2010.
Sources familiar with the case told TMZ that the woman’s lawyer contacted Seacrest’s attorney demanding $15 million. When the lawyer said no, the demand dropped to somewhere in the seven figures.
The woman’s lawyer reportedly had a meeting with Seacrest attorney, with Seacrest on the line. The lawyer read aloud a press release that he threatened to send out to media unless Seacrest met the stylist’s financial demands.
Apparently, the criminal and civil statute of limitations have run out on all of her claims, which are older than 6 years. As a result, the only leverage the stylist and her lawyer have would be shaming Seacrest in public with allegations.
The lawyer for the accuser told TMZ, his client “wanted an apology from Ryan and validation of what had happened and what she got was a complete rejection of the allegations and a request that she not go forward with an interview with NBC investigators.” The lawyer denies making a $15 million demand.
If the report is true, that would explain why Ryan made a pre-emptive statement before the stylist could.
