‘The Voice’ helps Kelly Clarkson expand her brand – When Kelly came on (season 14), she really wanted to make her mark, and she did,” says Voice executive producer Audrey Morrissey, who notes that Clarkson’s tutelage helped secure the win for contestant Brynn Cartelli. “Kelly is like a straight-A student. She does her homework. She does everything at 1,000 percent. It’s all about the material and understanding it, finding songs that will show different sides of the artist and keep the audience interested,” Morrissey adds. ”Every coach does their version of this, but Kelly exceeds in all ways. She’s a fan, an enthusiast and an enthusiast on life. She is what you see. There’s no mystery to her. She’s funny, kindhearted and has a big personality.” – Read more at USAToday
A brief Q&A with Kelly Clarkson about The Greatest Showman – So how did you get involved in this album of covers?
I don’t know if it had anything to do with this, but it may have happened because I went to the Golden Globes to represent The Voice and I ended up presenting [Pasek and Paul] with their award. And when I handed them their Golden Globe, they were like, “Oh my God, we’re such big fans,” and I was like, “You have no idea, man.” So I don’t know if that sparked maybe an idea about it. But they were really nice [when I recorded “Never Enough”]. They were like, “We tried to imagine who could pull this off if we asked them to do this song.” And I was so glad they picked me. – Read more at EW.com

So, hopefully, when the schedule permits, I’ll be able to get in the studio and have some new material for everyone. – See the Photos at Parade

Cassadee Pope Addresses Country Music’s Bias Toward Women: ‘We Have to Create Our Own Opportunities’ – “I definitely think a huge part of the success of that song is Chris, and his name and his voice, and his success at radio already,” Pope explained to The Boot in advance of an event celebrating the 2019 CMT Next Women of Country on Tuesday (Nov. 13). “In my head, I see “Think of You” as my first No. 1, but I also think there’s a lot more to be said about having my own No. 1 and having it be a song of mine, that maybe I wrote or recorded on my project. “But I am very grateful for that song, obviously,” she adds. “It opened a lot of doors for me, and it was really fun, and I loved every second of it.” – Read more at Billboard
