Ratings Week of 4/30-5/8: American Idol Sunday ratings in the key 18-49 demo rose considerably from the week before likely due to the show going live coast to coast. In some West coast markets, the show airs twice, offering more opportunities to watch. However, on Monday, ratings fell week to week.
Nevertheless, American Idol Monday edition bested The Voice both the key demo and overall viewers. Did NBC assume season 23 being Blake Shelton’s last season would bring in more eyeballs? The show is STILL not live, and will only air live the last two weeks of the season. The difference between a live show with live voting and live results vs a show that taped months ago and no viewer voting. Of course more fans are tuning into Idol.
The Masked Singer ratings are down a little bit week to week, but still higher than The Voice, which actually hit a season low in the key demo.
