Numbers Thread – 07/17/18

Today’s thread is brought to you by the letters “R”, “A”, “P”.

Drake replaces himself at the top of the Hot 100 to earn his 6th number one song. He created his own viral challenge for “In My Feelings”. Drake is just playing with the charts now. Drake becomes only the 4th artist to twice replace himself at the top to the chart (Bieber, Usher and The Beatles also achieved the accomplishment).

1 (6) Drake “In My Feelings” 89K [#1] (+337%), 71.7M streams [#1] (+58%), 36.5M AI (+239%)
2 (3) Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin “I Like It” 102.7M AI [#1] (+15%)
3 (5) Maroon 5 “Girls Like You” featuring Cardi B
4 (1) Drake “Nice For What”
5 (11) Ella Mai”Boo’d Up” 27K (+29%), 32.9 AI (+5%), 68.9M AI (+12%)
6 (4) Drake “God’s Plan”
7 (16) Juice WRLD “Lucid Dreams”
8 (15) Ariana Grande “No Tears Left to Cry”
9 (12) Post Malone “Psycho”
10 (10) XXXTentacion “Sad!”

Drake also spends a second week at the top of the BB200 – the biggest second week in two years (335K equivalent albums, 29K in sales. Hmmm). Much like the Hot 100, the BB200 is dominated by Rap artists. Drake, Post Malone, Future, XXXTentacion, Cardi B, Juice WRLD. One must go to number 7 for the first non rap – “The Greatest Showman” (featuring Loren Allred from The Voice) has 30K in equivalent album sales. Followed by more rap – The Carters (though, only half rap), Meek Mill and Lil Baby. Streaming is where it is at and rap fans love to stream.
