 (ABC) BOBBY BONES

After serving as mentor on American Idol in one form or another for the first four years the series aired on ABC, Bobby Bones didn’t return for the landmark 20th season. Without going into details, Bobby explained that he signed an exclusive contract with another network, and had just come back from filming in Costa Rica.

Now, more details have emerged about the network and the series. Bobby filmed an unscripted series Snake in the Grass for USA Network, which is owned by NBC/Universal.

The official press release explains, “USA Network pushes human nature to the limits with the new competition series Snake in the Grass. This action-packed social experiment is hosted by national radio and television personality Bobby Bones. Each episode will feature four strangers who are dropped into the wild with a chance to win $100,000. In order to win, the team must figure out which one of them is the Snake – a saboteur who is secretly undermining the group every step of the way.

Snake in the Grass is produced by Renegade 83, an eOne company with Sam Hargrave, David Garfinkle, Jay Renfroe, Craig Armstrong, and Mike Espinosa serving as executive producers.

Bobby is not sure when Snake in the Grass will premiere

On social media, Bobby explained, “Gotta new social experiment show that will be on Peacock/USA Network. And it’s Coming in the next few months. I spent over a month living in Costa Rica shooting it. 100k every episode.

“If you took the board game Clue, and smashed it with The Mole, Survivor, and a True Crime podcast… that’s this show. Can’t wait to share more details. But, welp, I don’t know exactly when it’s coming out either. But soon or they wouldn’t have announced it today!”

Snake in the Grass joins Blake Shelton and Carson Daly’s Barmageddon

Snake in the Grass joins the new game show Barmageddon starring The Voice’s Blake Shelton and Carson Daly, that the network announced last week. The two, along with celebrity pals, play bar games at Blake’s bar Ole Red in Nashville. AGT: Extreme judge Nikki Bella hosts.
