Monday Morning Mediabase Update: Sep 2-9

Milestones this week from Idol’s Season 4 and 11 while X-Factor hits a milestone to celebrate its new season.

Carrie Unerwood sails into the top 10 on Country with her title track from her fourth studio album. “Blown Away” is Carrie’s second single from that album to achieve top 10 in the format.

Meanwhile, our latest winner with the same last name as his first, goes top 10 on HAC and top 30 on Pop with “Home”. Phil’s Idol coronation song is currently charting in 4 formats (including top 30 in three of them).

Finally, Marcus Canty from the first season of the X-Factor’s US franchise is making moves with his second single. While he only finished fourth, he’s making a lot more noise on the radio than the winner Melanie (who just released her first single – it is getting some spins on Pop) and Josh who seems to have gone into the witness protection program (perhaps he should introduce himself to Jermaine, Juliet, Tony and Chris). “In and Out” has gone top 40 on Urban even though it is only officially going for adds this week.
