Monday Morning Mediabase Update: Mar 2-8

Five milestones this Monday Morning – 2 from Idol and 3 from the X-Factor domain.

Fifth Harmony are working their third single from Reflections. “Worth It” f. Kid Ink went for adds last week on Rhythmic where it had already charted. This week, it debuts in the top 40 on Pop.

Also debuting this week and also from X-Factor (in this case the UK addition), are One Direction. “Ready to Run” may have jumped the gun a little because the lads from the UK are still working their second single “Night Changes”. “Ready to Run” has charted in other countries, now it is charting in the top 50 on AC in the US.

Ella Henderson, also from the UK version of X-Factor, goes top 5 on HAC this week with “Ghost”. This is her first top 5 milestone which is logical since it is her first single. The song has peaked on Pop. Olly Murs returns to the top 40 (his “Wrapped Up” spent a week outside of it).

Carrie Underwood’s “Little Toy Gun”, the second new single from her Greatest Hits album, went top 40 on Country last week. This week, it moves into the top 30.

Finally, we have Kelly Clarkson (original recipe American Idol). Her debut single for her 7th album achieved top 20 on Pop this week. “Heartbeat Song” is also top 10 on HAC and AC. The album itself, “Piece by Piece” was released last week and we’ll be receiving sales update today and tomorrow. She’s in the running for the top album of the week. She’ll certainly get it in sales, but will she on the combined chart?
