Monday Morning Mediabase Update: Jul 2-8

This Mediabase Report is brought to you by the letter “C”.

Carly Rae starts us off with her new song with Owl City. “Good Time” had a good time on the chart this week while going top 30 on Pop and top 50 on HAC. As expected, Carrie Underwood has appeared like clockwork on her home format. The title track and second single from her latest album, “Blown Away” went top 50 on Country.

Casey Abrams first solo effort, “Get Out” went top 30 on AC while Casey James is certainly not crying over his second single. “Crying on a Suitcase” is flying up the charts much faster than his debut single (which is exactly how it should work, but often does not) and has achieved top 40 on Country.

Cher Lloyd is having success with “Want U Back” despite the fact that I hate that song (curse you, program
directors!!!! May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits!). The song went top 20 on Pop. Meanwhile, original Idol, Miss Clarkson, went top 15 on HAC with “Dark Side”. She continues to rule the AC chart with “Stronger”.

But fear not, there was lots of chart action for those without prominent letter ‘C’s in their names. One Direction’s “One Thing” went top 15 on Pop, Leah Labelle’s “Sexify” went top 30 on UAC, Rebecca Fergusen’s “Nothing’s Real but Love” went top 40 on HAC and Phil Phillips coronation song “Home” appeared on the Pop chart in the top 50.

Usually, the HAC format is very kind to Idols, but not this week. Kelly, Adam and Kris all left the HAC chart. Meanwhile, Stefano fell off Pop
