This week features four milestones from contestants that didn’t win their reality show – they weren’t even the runner-ups.
Ella Henderson may not have come very close to winning the X-Factor UK (she came in 6th), but she is winning in the music business. Her debut single “Ghost” is climbing multiple charts. This week, it entered the top 15 on Pop and the top 30 on AC. She’s charting on all three mainstream formats and should cross into the top 10 on HAC soon (she’s in the 11th spot).
Over on CAC, the third place finisher from Season 8 is making strides. Danny Gokey has got a song in the top 10 and his latest single “More Than You Think I Am” just entered the top 50.
Canaan Smith also finished way back in the pack on his reality show – his team was eliminated 7th when his partner flatly refused to go down a water slide (note to future contestants – if you can’t handle standard amusement park type rides, this probably isn’t the show for you). He has dusted himself off and now has a top 40 hit with “Love You Like That” on Country.
