Monday Morning Mediabase Update – Nov 8-14

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. The season is upon us as we start to see our Idol Christmas songs appearing on the charts. First up are David Archuleta’s “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” reaching top 40 on AC while Katharine McPhee’s “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” hits the top 50 in that format. What makes this truly impressive is that these are the only two Christmas songs on the AC charts right now. Idol for the Christmas win!

But, it’s not all Christmas songs. Carrie Underwood cracks the top 10 on Country with her latest single “Mama’s Song”. I’ve lost track of how many top 10 singles Carrie has had, but I suspect that all of her singles have gone top 10.

This week, we say goodbye to Daughtry’s “Life After You” which went recurrent on the AC chart. The band does have cause to celebrate, though, because it’s latest single, “September” reached the top 20 on Pop.

Also reaching the top 20 this week is Jason Castro. His “You Are” has reached that milestone on the Christian AC chart. Just last week, he reached the top 30.

Rounding out the milestones is Lee DeWyze who reached top 40 on the HAC chart with his debut single “Sweet Serendipity”. His album will be released tomorrow.
