This Monday Morning, we only have two milestones to report – both from the same person.
Liam Payne, formerly of X-Factor UK and on a break from One Direction, racks up our two milestones for this week – with two different songs. His debut single with Quavo “Strip that Down” moves into the top 30 on HAC week. It is already top 20 on Pop and top 14 on Rhythmic. Meanwhile, his new collaboration with Zedd pops onto the Pop chart. “Get Low” arrives in the top 40.
David Cook’s “Gimme Heartbreak” goes for adds on Pop and HAC this week.
Jay-Z scores his 14th number one album with “4:44”. He extends his lead as the solo artist with the most number ones (at number 2 is a tie between Bruce Springsteen and Barbara Streisand with 11 each). Jay-Z’s album was released on June 30th as streaming only, but did not release the numbers to BB, so its official debut is this week. It was also available as a free download to Sprint customers, but those don’t count as sales either.
