Monday Morning Mediabase 03/15/2021

Just one milestone to celebrate on the Ides of March Monday Morning Mediabase Memo

Jordan Smith won Season 9 of The Voice and became one of its more successful alumni. He was on Adam Levine’s team and did extremely well selling singles on the show. His compilation album from the show debuted at number 11 on the Billboard charts and he has released a couple of albums since being on the show in 2015. This week, “Great You Are” debuts on the CAC chart. It will probably be the anchor single for his next album.

Another Voice Alumni continues to dominate the BB200. Morgan Wallen may be a person non grata due to his bad behaviour, but the dude has some serious staying power on top of the primo album chart. “Dangerous: The Double Album” spends a ninth week at the top of the BB200 with 78K equivalent albums (-6%) including 71K SEAs (-5%, 98.10M), 6K in sales and 1K in TEAs (-14%). Perhaps it is doing well because people have no choice but to buy the album or stream it if they want to hear it.
