Listen to a full stream of the new album from Michelle Chamuel, The Voice 4 runner-up. The new set premieres at The Wall Street Journal.
Michelle worked on the album with fellow University of Michigan classmates, Theo Katzman and Tyler Duncan.
“I love collaborating,” Michelle said. “You learn from your collaborators, you see things in different ways, it’s a really nice cycle. It feeds into itself.”
“You go from a show where you’re singing geniusly crafted hits, and you’re like, ‘Cool, I’ve been studying this for a long time, I want to be writing these kinds of songs, too,’” Michelle says about not rushing music out after her appearance on The Voice. “But it’s not easy to make your thoughts and feelings accessible to a lot of people at once.”
Michelle’s special brand of electro-pop will be hitting stores on February 10. Ten songs that clock in at a little over 36 minutes, each song is like a buzzy burst of melodic energy. This album, from one of my favorite The Voice contestants, is not a disappointment.
