Louis Tomlinson Still Annoyed by Harry Styles Romance Conspiracy

Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles

One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson still annoyed by Harry Styles romance conspiracy which some fans still believe

The thing about conspiracy theories is that there is a thing called cost sunk fallacy. The longer a person believes a conspiracy, the less willing they are to give up their beliefs after investing so much time and effort into them. That’s why, after a decade, there are STILL fans who believe in the “Larry” conspiracy.

There are One Direction fans convinced that Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles are engaged in a secret gay relationship, forced upon them by nefarious forces controlling their careers! But since One Direction broke up in 2016, the two men have led separate lives. They’ve both engaged in relationships with other people. In Louis’ case, he had a child with a woman he briefly dated.

While Harry seemed to blow off the rumors, they irk Louis, even still to this day.

“What’s tough is, I realized this some years ago — there is nothing I can say. There is nothing I can do to dispel the believers of that conspiracy,” Louis told Brazilian news outlet G1. “They are so intertwined with what they believe to be the truth now that they won’t actually see the truth for what it is.”

Indeed, both Harry and Louis have tried to shut down the rumors, the conspiracists refuse to take no for an answer. The “Larries” have a many excuses, but it boils down to the belief that those nefarious forces compel both singers to lie about the true nature of their relationship. Yes, it’s nutty. But aren’t most conspiracies irrational?

“It gets far too personal”

“It does irritate me a little bit, you know? But it is just kind of [the] nature of the job, I suppose,” Louis told G1. “There are times where it gets a little bit… at times it gets far too personal within that whole space. I’ve got my son Freddie [who is] the most important person in my life. Occasionally it kind of broaches some stuff that is really unfair.”

He continued: “So it kind of just is this thing that exists now. There’s nothing I can do about it, there’s nothing I can say about it to stop people making up what they want to make up. So be it!”

Simon Cowell created One Direction from five solo contestants on the X Factor in 2010. Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Liam Payne rounded out the quintet. After the show wrapped, the group became massive worldwide churning out hits like “What Makes You Beautiful” and “Story of My Life.” Louis and Harry have gone on to solo careers and hardly ever the two shall meet. But don’t tell the believers. They don’t want to hear it.
