Kris Allen Album on iTunes: #1 on Pop, #4 Overall

Kris Allen’s self-titled album was available for download on iTunes around midnight last night. In less than 6 hours, the album shot up to #4 on the overall iTunes album chart, and #1 in Pop.

The single, ‘Live Like We’re Dying’ has benefited too. It’s #44 on the overall iTunes songs chart, and #22 on the Pop chart.

Jive has also arranged for a banner ad on iTunes.

  1. Just showed Kris on GMA finishing up LLWD. Which means he’ll be doing a different song on the show.

I am so excited that Kris shot up the charts!

  2. Love that Kris is doing well! Nice things do happen to nice people!

  3. Good for him. :) Is it still streaming on AOL? I haven’t had a chance to listen to it yet.

  4. Hell yeah! Go Kris. :D

I’m so proud of him, he deserves this.

  5. In less than 6 hours, the album shot up to #4 on the overall iTunes album chart, and #1 in Pop.

Is it because of iTunes Pass?

  6. Is it because of iTunes Pass?

Well, we don’t know what the deal is exactly with the iTunes Pass, but I would say “No”.

When the iTunes Pass was available, it charted on it’s own. Just like with Amazon, if you are selling well at a certain point of time, even though it’s a pre-order, you show up on the charts at that point in time.

This CD is charting based on sales within the rolling time window. Nobody knows how big that window is, but many think it is between 3 and 4 days. This means he’s move the most total pop CDs on iTunes within the last N days. Pre-orders are counted by SoundScan as being sold that week, but these internet companies use rolling charts of current sales.

  7. If his streaming is like streaming for others in the past, it should be there a very long time. It helps him to have big streams, BTW.

  8. Unless something changed in the last few minutes, John Mayer was #1. Maybe he’s not classed as pop?

  9. Kris is beating John mayer coooolll. congrats kris!!!

No. John Mayer is winning this round. His CD is sitting at Number 1 and 2 overall. John’s album is classified as rock. 50 cent has the overall Number 3 spot. Again, not a Pop album (Rap)

He is currently beating Leona, One Republic and that Justin kid, though.

  10. Yay, Kris!

I didn’t get the email notice from Apple, but when I opened iTunes it started downloading. I need to figure out why the only track with a name is ‘From the Ashes’ Hrmmm

Kris is featured on the banner and also in albums below it. Yippee!

First impression of ‘From the Ashes’ is bandzilla is back. The music is so freaking louder than the vocals. Major grumble on that.

Thanks happygolucky for the link to the livestream of GMA. I got here just in time. I get to watch it again on TV when the sun comes up here in LA. Hah!

On the side … why the heck is AL album streaming on Kris’ day? Why does he always have to be pushed to the back of the bus?

  11. THE GMA thing wasn’t a concert. One song does NOT equal concert!

  12. He is currently beating Leona, One Republic and that Justin kid, though.

And both versions of Norah Jones’ album, though I would generally expect her to be stronger in the big-boxes than digitally. Overall a very fine state of affairs for Kris at iTunes this morning!

  13. Way to go Kris!

John Mayer is Rock even though I would consider him pop.

Back to Kris – I’m very happy for this kid, he’s a nice guy and deserves success.

  14. Unless something changed in the last few minutes, John Mayer was #1. Maybe he’s not classed as pop?

John Mayer is classified as “Rock” that’s why he isn’t showing up on the “Pop” chart. He’s No. 1 overall.

So are the itunes pass purchases now being counting as first week sales? Are they now included in where Kris is sitting in itunes right now or if they were included he would be sitting higher now? Does what I’m asking make sense?

  16. BTW, to those in the know, is iTunes sales a good indicator of as to how the hard-copy CD is selling?

  17. THE GMA thing wasn’t a concert. One song does NOT equal concert!

He only did one song? I thought they did at least three.

  18. Very excited for Kris!! I like From the Ashes, but not my favorite song on the album. He sounded awesome on GMA this morning. Very proud of him!!!

  19. Yeah!!! So happy for Kris. Btw, I think “From the Angels” is a damm good song. More rock than his other songs.

  20. Are all of the ITunes Pass and Pre-orders included in these numbers or are they additional sales? Does anyone know?

  21. Yes, great on GMA! Much higher energy from everyone than on Conan, IMHO. Liked the story about walking down to the Empire State Building, engaging and charming. People tweeted that they did “Can’t Stay Away” but guess only had time on air for LLWD. Side note-Chris Torres, bass player, is cute, and seems to be enjoying himself on these appearances. Lead guitarist hardly cracks a smile, though.

  22. Enjoy the [‘Kris Allen Reign’ (Rain)] You Know, instead of the ‘Drizzle’… Let It Rain … Any takers? …. No… Thank God… Coz it’s kinda lame… or not….Whatever!!

I’m Sorry I’m just so effing dizzy with all the Epicness of today!!!

    CONGRATS KRIS ALLEN!!!!! (#KrisAllen)

It’s just strange because his album was available for pre-order on iTunes Canada for weeks and it was never in top 100. Plus his single is not really selling well in Canada.

  24. Is it because of iTunes Pass?

Well, we don’t know what the deal is exactly with the iTunes Pass, but I would say ‘No’ .

Kirsten, I’m not sure that you are correct. I am pretty sure that all the preorders are converted to sales as soon as they are downloaded, which is why new albums can shoot up in rankings fast on the 1st day of sale. Some people have already gotten the CD downloaded from the pass, so they should count as sales.

  25. BTW, to those in the know, is iTunes sales a good indicator of as to how the hard-copy CD is selling?

Not necessarily. Pricing, ad-placement, and demographics have a big impact on things at iTunes. You will often see indie releases or other specialty-type titles (like comedy albums and such) in the top ranks of the bestseller list at iTunes. So the ranking there often is not reflective of how things are selling in other digital outlets or brick-and-mortar retailers. But the fact that Kris’s album zoomed quickly into the top 5 (with two versions of John Mayer ahead of him, which will be consolidated in the final sales numbers), means that demand is strong for Kris’s debut. If he stays there for some period of days it probably reflects a general trend across other outlets. So I would say that iTunes can be a decent indicator of what is selling well physically, but I wouldn’t rely on the ranking to reflect exactly what the charts are going to look like in the end.

  26. It’s just strange because his album was available for pre-order on iTunes Canada for weeks and it was never in top 100. Plus his single is not really selling well in Canada.

Someone said he is #2 in Pop and #7 overall in Canada now. Good enough for me!

  27. The Itunes pass is charting at # 48 on Pop.
So I don’t think it’s been added to the main album yet.

  28. No. John Mayer is winning this round. His CD is sitting at Number 1 and 2 overall. John’s album is classified as rock. 50 cent has the overall Number 3 spot. Again, not a Pop album (Rap)

He is currently beating Leona, One Republic and that Justin kid, though

o my bad but still wow hoo . he’s beating some hyped peeps. the justin kid for one . unless it’s becos the tweens and teens are in school but yeahh for kris. i didn’t know Mayer was rock.

  29. I should be asleep…instead I’m listening to a LR radio station and am watching VH1 Top 20 countdown. Just for Kris!

  30. Carmine, you have to take iTunes with a grain of salt. For most, it might be 10% or less of their overall sales. I think it is a bigger % when an album is new than later, so a better indicator then. Different artists sell different %’s at iTunes than others, though. I see iTunes as a great sign, but not a be-all and end-all. It skews to a flavor-of-the-month. Someone who sells better at Amazon or brick and mortars can swoop in and surprise you by taking the top spot after being not that visible on iTunes. But at least it is a decent barometer. Kris should rank well with these iTunes numbers, I suspect.

  31. I just have to say my congratulations to Kris Allen. Though it’s just the beginning, and there’s no actual sales figures yet, I’m positively hoping he’d have decent first-day sales. Good luck, Kris! BTW, I checked awhile back and it seems his album is not yet available in our country.

  32. Oh commercial for Stoby’s! Cheese dip!!

10 more minutes…he is greeting fans, evidently. Playing LLWD now…

  33. Disappointed that they only aired him doing LLWD on GMA. It was obvious he did more since they said he stuck around during the break and most artists leave and come back. I wonder if they’ll have the full performance online.

Cool that they walked to the Empire State Bldg. and went to the top … at 1 AM. He was so lively and happy. That was great to see.

Now patiently waiting for him to get done schmoozing at GMA to talk on LR radio. :)

    Go Kris!

No, Kirsten is correct. The iTunes top-seller lists are essentially popularity rankings, not sales charts. They reflect what is being purchased most in the iTunes store at any given time (relative to other SKUs), not raw sales numbers. When Kris’s fans bought the iTunes pass or pre-order album months or weeks ago, those purchases were ranked amongst other items in the store at that time. Now that they are being downloaded by purchasers, those previous purchases are being counted as a unit sold by Soundscan for this week. But iTunes is not counting them again in their current store popularity rankings – that would be like the chart equivalent of double-jeopardy. Kris’s current placement on the bestseller lists is reflecting purchases made within the current rolling period (as Kirsten said, anywhere from say 24 hours to a few days).

  35. btw, I’m really enjoying KURB radio. This is the stuff I listen to. I guess that explains why I like Kris Allen.

    ETA: Kris is ON!

  36. Congratulations Kris!!! It’s nice to see nice guys finishing first. Loved the GMA performance, wish you would of got one more song. One piece of advice, please listen to your song on the radio, so you don’t have to say you haven’t heard it on the radio yet.

Now I’m off to Walmart to get met Kris Allen CD.

  37. Well I hope Kirsten is right. Better for Kris overall. I think 7K-9K a day can probably give you a very high ranking on iTunes albums chart. So the longer the album is on top the better.

  38. People probably noticed this already but banners on the home page of iTunes for both Kris and Adam, something for all!

Go Kris! It’s just the start of the key sales month, but waking up to that chart must deliver a big, big shot of relief to his team. Oh boy.

Aww, Empire State Building–what a great memory to take away.

  39. But iTunes is not counting them again in their current store popularity rankings ‘“ that would be like the chart equivalent of double-jeopardy. Kris’s current placement on the bestseller lists is reflecting purchases made within the current rolling period (as Kirsten said, anywhere from say 24 hours to a few days).

Except, that the preorders are never included in the actual itunes rankings feeds, so they must be counted somewhere.

  40. Except, that the preorders are never included in the actual itunes rankings feeds, so they must be counted somewhere.

Yes pre-orders are used for actual itunes ranking. Go check back a week and you’ll see a post about Adam’s rankings on the iTunes album charts. Heck, check iTunes today and you’ll see Adam’s album listed (as an example of a pre-order album ranking). We’ve received daily updates of iTunes rankings for the last week.

Pre-order albums can and do chart in the itunes rankings. This is nothing new. Not even for this site.

  41. So are the itunes pass purchases now being counting as first week sales? Are they now included in where Kris is sitting in itunes right now or if they were included he would be sitting higher now? Does what I’m asking make sense?

You are asking two different questions. The itunes pass will count as first week sales, no matter when the pass was purchased. But, on the itunes chart, the pass, which is not the album that’s currently charting at #1 in pop and #4 overall, may not chart because so many of the passes were not purchased recently. If you look at the itunes pop album chart, you’ll see that Kris does have an album that’s charting at #48 on pop, this is the bundle that itunes made available last night, but it’s not the pass, since the pass includes a different bonus song, but this bundle includes the LLWD video. This bundle, like the pass costs $16.99, but I believe that it has a different id number than the pass, so they aren’t the same thing.

  42. Except, that the preorders are never included in the actual itunes rankings feeds, so they must be counted somewhere.

I’m not sure what you’re saying. They don’t show-up in the dynamic feeds for whatever reason, but pre-order ranking is certainly reflected in the store itself. Kris’s pre-order has been visible in the album rankings since it was made available at iTunes – it had a nice bump alnog with the single in the past few days as promo kicked-in. Adam’s pre-order is there right now at #50. Pre-orders always show up in the iTunes album rankings, but they are not double-counted when the item itself is made available for download to the purchaser.

iTunes ranks pre-orders (and passes) when they are purchased. Soundscan counts pre-orders when they are downloaded (digital) or shipped (internet).

Kris is on the LR station now ‘” doesn’t sound too sleepy

IA …. Little tired but pretty chatty!!! I loved it!! Babs — Barb! LOL! He was soo sweet and funny… They slept on the floor (He & his Bride). R U srs!!! he’s the most squishable/huggable guy eva!!!

That sounds right as I read it. But if that is true, then how come things can chart when they’re *only* available as pre-orders. I can see that in Kris’s case, the Itunes pass might have accounted for those earlier sales, if pre-orders didn’t. But most people don’t have that, yet they record sales before their stuff is available for download. Adam’s album, for example, has been on the chart for a while, yet it didn’t have an Itunes pass, only a preorder. So if the pre-orders weren’t counting as sales at the time of purchase — but only at the point of download — where the heck were those sales coming from? He had nothing to sell!

Oh, and, Kris, please continue beating out that silly Justin kid. Enough with the manufactured music-for-Disneyites at the top of the charts.

  45. The pre-orders are summed up for the first day of sales for the rankings, that’s why the albums shoot up to the top of the charts in an hour or so, unlike the singles that take at best a day.

  46. ladymadonna all of that will be counted as one when his numbers come out right? There won’t be two sets of numbers will there? I apologize if these are annoying questions, just don’t know how this works.

There’s a difference between a pre-order and the itunes pass. The pass sales were completed at the time that people purchased the pass, so they were recorded as a sale, but that’s not the case with pre-sales, which is probably why they aren’t included in the live itunes feed. It’s also the reason why the pass charted months ago, on the itunes end of the week chart for two weeks after the season ended.

  48. November is such a great month to track numbers!
It will be interesting to see if Leona passes it on Itunes. Idol’s album usually climb quicker.
    Anyway, top 5! That’s great.

  49. The pre-orders are summed up for the first day of sales for the rankings, that’s why the albums shoot up to the top of the charts in an hour or so, unlike the singles that take at best a day.

Not true. As posted above, pre-orders at iTunes are only “counted” once toward the ranking – they “chart” at iTunes at the point of purchase (i.e. weeks or months ago). The difference in speed of ascent up the iTunes rankings is due to volume – iTunes moves a lot fewer albums than it does singles, so it is easier to zoom up the album rankings quickly with a newly released title. New singles usually take a bit longer to break through the currently popular titles.

As a recent example, Carrie Underwood’s new album went to #1 on the iTunes album rankings within an hour or so of being made available – she did not have a pre-order for sale in the store prior to her release date.

ladymadonna all of that will be counted as one when his numbers come out right? There won’t be two sets of numbers will there?

Correct. As long as the content is 75% the same, Soundscan will count all versions of an album (standard, deluxe, iTunes pass, etc.) as one single title. All sales will be consolidated into a single number of units sold. We’ll get that figure next Wednesday. Don;t be confused by all the different versions you see in iTunes or Walmart or via Kris’s official site or whatever. Those are just merchandising tactics designed to help the retailers move units with diferentiated content. For chart purposes, it’s all one title.

  50. ladymadonna :

Thanks for the clarification. :) I suspected as much.

  51. ladymadonna all of that will be counted as one when his numbers come out right? There won’t be two sets of numbers will there? I apologize if these are annoying questions, just don’t know how this works.

Everything will be counted as one by Nielsen soundscan, but for the purposes of their records, it’s itunes that doesn’t mix the itunes pass, regular album, deluxe albums, eplicit albums, etc. together.

  52. I don’t know about the pre-sales thing but the reason albums zoom up iTunes quickly is volume. The singles sell 10x what that albums do so it’s much easier to hit the top 10 as an album. iTunes is the singles download market but it’s only a minor percentage of album sales.

Yes on this. I think Kris’ pre-orders was #3 the other day. I think he shared with John Mayer and I forget who else. I could have this mixed with passes though. The rankings there drive me crazy. There are so many options.

  54. Yes on this. I think Kris’ pre-orders was #3 the other day. I think he shared with John Mayer and I forget who else.

Yes, Kris peaked at #3. John Mayer was first (with deluxe version and regular version which should be combined), 50 Cent was next, then Kris.

  55. You know what? It just takes too darn long to make an album! AI seems ages ago and as much as the tour was fun, it’s so great to finally have Kris’ and Adam’s (and soon Allison’s) albums.

Grats, Kris, on this major milestone!! We are so proud of you and happy for you! Thanks for your music to mellow the harsh in our lives. :D

  56. The pre-orders are summed up for the first day of sales for the rankings, that’s why the albums shoot up to the top of the charts in an hour or so, unlike the singles that take at best a day.

So you’re saying that *no one’s* pre-orders count as sales until the day of download???

How the heck has Adam’s album been on the charts then, since it isn’t available until next week? He didn’t have an Itunes pass, like Kris. So he had nothing for sale except preorders — which you say don’t count until download — yet his album has charted. How????

Honestly, I think Kris’s sales this morning have been new ones. (Yay!). ….

And I know that, for myself, I decided that I wouldn’t pre-order anybody’s album this year, just buy them when they came out. So I bought Kris’s album today, and I’m thinking — maybe pretty many people actually did that?

  57. Adam Graham’s review of Kris Allen is up at Detroit News. I haven’t been able to post links for a while now, but will try… if not it’s pretty favorable considering how much of a fanboy he is of Adam :).

  58. And I know that, for myself, I decided that I wouldn’t pre-order anybody’s album this year, just buy them when they came out. So I bought Kris’s album today, and I’m thinking ‘” maybe pretty many people actually did that?

Or are about to go out and buy it as in my case. I don’t do iTunes (well, only for Cook but that is a special situation having to do with basements).

  59. OK so of course the Det News link didn’t work. What’s crazy to me is that after reading all of the reviews– there is a lot of variety amongst reviewers on which is the strongest track on the album… never paid attention to reviews before, but I have seen almost every song (except for Lifetime) mentioned as a standout on the album.

  60. Kris did well on gma this morning :)
he went at the top of the Empire state building late last night … brings back sweet memories to me

  61. I hope iTunes gets their sh*t together with this iTunes Pass thing.

I bought the iTunes Pass last May, and Kris’s album started downloading as soon as I opened iTunes this morning, but it’s a mess. Some tracks (the bonus ones, I presume) include their song titles and are listed as part of the album ‘Kris Allen’; the others are listed as “Debut Album Track” (1-5 & 7-10) on the album ‘Kris Allen iTunes Pass.’ “Bring It Back” (track no. 6, I’m guessing) for some reason, includes its song title.

There’s no way to sort the stupid tracks or get their names. I contacted iTunes so I’m hoping they fix the problem or else I’ll have to go in and manually relabel the entire album. Ridiculous. Especially for $17!

  62. OMG. Leona Lewis overtook him!!! Am I the only one who is seeing Kris at Number 5 instead of 4?

  63. There’s no way to sort the stupid tracks or get their names. I contacted iTunes so I’m hoping they fix the problem or else I’ll have to go in and manually relabel the entire album. Ridiculous. Especially for $17!

I’d re-label the songs if I knew how, but it is inexcusable that the songs weren’t labeled. We’ve known the titles of all of these tracks for weeks, so I don’t know what’s the problem with itunes.

YouTube of Can’t Stay Away. Little rough on the vocals, but good energy.

OMG Youtube already! Excellent! ANd Thanks!!!
Yeah. A little Rough but sounded more like sore throat or tired vocal cords than strained vocals (OIC! Did I make sense?). He sounded smoother on LLWD tho.

@Kris Allen’s Band, On LLWD, Plz support Kris on the wordy chorus by singing “Ticking” & “To Say”, which Kris purposely drops coz he needs to Fking! BREATH! for a sec! For Fsake! It’s so simple!

  65. Am I the only one who is seeing Kris at Number 5 instead of 4?

Since he went down one spot on the pop chart, it makes sense that he would go down one spot on the overall chart.

  66. You go Kris! I checked my email this morning to be advised my pre-order was ready for downloading at iTunes… Now, listening as I work from home!

    The good and bad?

I truly think this is one of the most commercial Idol winner releases. I think it has great potential on top 40 radio. I truly love more than I don’t on the album. I love “Alright With Me” (feel good happy beat), “Is it Over” (very soulful and I love Kris’s little voice flip), “Can’t Stay Away” (funky Kris is funky!). “Bring It Back” is pure Kris and beautiful. As for yet another version of “Heartless”, I’m a sucker for this Kris’ arrangement of this song because I like it as well as the others. It actually starts in a lower register which is ALWAYS a good thing for Kris’ voice – in my humble opinion.

Hot and cold – “Written All Over My Face” is interesting. I like what Kris does with his voice but something about the song refrain bugs. “Red Guitar” is not my favorite Kris-penned song but his luscious lower register is in full evidence. “I Need to Know” gritty lower register; lovely, unfussy arrangement (except for the gloopy strings at the end) but the melody is kinda sleepy. I’ll have to play “From the Ashes” a bit more to decide, but I’ll put this is the “okay” column for now.

The less good (and, yes, I AM a Kris fan), I do think a couple of the songs sound Daughtry-ish and a few have that ubiquitous, repetitive … thing (not sure how to describe it) that is everywhere in pop music at the moment. It’s most evident in “The Truth” (beat), “Lifetime” and somewhat in “Let It Rain” (melody). The instrumentation in some of the is too fussy (typical Idol release, in my opinion) and that makes it sound muddy. I like “less is more” Kris best.

All in all, a very enjoyable piece of work that I’m pleased to be listening to. I’m buying the CD for my daughter who also liked the samples she heard.

I think I may actually attend a Kris concert when he comes to my area. I’d like to see him and band in a venue smaller than the Pru Center.

  67. I’m on the West Coast (Los Angeles) , so Kris is not on GMA yet, but I saw the “Can’t Stay Away” video.
Walking outside at 1:00 am in New York ? Isn’t cold ? Please Kris, don’t get sick !! This is a very important week for you. Keep your vocal cords smooth and happy. You can walk around some other time.

By the way, congratulations for the album release.
I’m so happy for you !!!

  68. ladymadonna you said:

Can I ask you to clarfiy? Will pre-orders for the album also count into 1st week sales?

  69. Since he went down one spot on the pop chart, it makes sense that he would go down one spot on the overall chart.

Yeah, I know that. I was just checking if the chart I was looking at is synchronized with everyone else’s.

  70. Last year David beat out both Nickelback and Beyonce on iTunes but they still overtook him in actual sales..soo iTunes doesn’t really tell the whole story but I do think it gives an approximate idea of how things may shake out in the end. Kris beating Justin Bieber is some nice karma though. That’s the kid who when he was on Z100 Elvis Duran mentioned that his album was dropping the same day as Kris and Justin was all “huh whos that?” Heh.

  71. What’s crazy to me is that after reading all of the reviews’“ there is a lot of variety amongst reviewers on which is the strongest track on the album’ ¦

This is kind of good news, isn’t it? The album has lots of tracks that sound strong and likable to people, albeit different ones to different people.

To me, that’s different from the average post-Idol debut album, where there’s often agreement that a few tracks are quite strong while the others are *all* meh and have virtually no supporters. Having different reviewers pick out different tracks as their faves sounds like a very good thing about the album, to me…. And there is a fair amount of variety here, really. I can see how people with different tastes can have favorites all over this album, really.

  72. Sorry Ratna12, but you don’t get sick from cold weather. You do get sick from germs. Your immune system can be weakened from not getting enough sleep, however, so I’d be more concerned with him getting enough rest than being out in the cold. I think the worst thing for the Idols is all the flying they do. Recycled airplane air is a killer.

Re: The critics liking different tracks, I’ve only closely followed David Cook’s release and the same thing happened with him. Every song was mentioned at least once (yup, even the coronation song), by different critics as a standout. I’m not following Kris’s as closely, but I just figured it was normal, as normal as different likes and dislikes in food.

  73. Can I ask you to clarfiy? Will pre-orders for the album also count into 1st week sales?

    Yes.

  74. BootStar, me too and I’m ticked off. Fortunately I listened to the AOL Listening Party so many times I know the names of the songs. So I’m manually editing ‘Track#’ to actual song names as I listen.

They still haven’t sent the email alert for download. Fortunately, I normally load iTunes when I get up so it started the download without any fanfare at all. Had I not been expecting it, I would have been freaking over the ‘Track 6’ downloading and not knowing what it was. I’d have thought some sort of virus.

  75. Going to buy the cd today! I havent physically bought a cd since David Cook last year lol.

I cant wait to open it and jam in my car. And it will be rush hour, so i’ll have the windows down so everyone can hear the music =)

  76. Having different reviewers pick out different tracks as their faves sounds like a very good thing about the album, to me’ ¦. And there is a fair amount of variety here, really.

Yes that’s my read too, eventhough he hasn’t gotten all stellar reviews I feel good about the quality of the album overall based upon this– really loving how much support Alright With Me is getting though!

  77. There’s no way to sort the stupid tracks or get their names. I contacted iTunes so I’m hoping they fix the problem or else I’ll have to go in and manually relabel the entire album. Ridiculous. Especially for $17!

I just went ahead and manually edited all the song file information. I used the EW tracklist article for the composer names. Yeah, it’s a pain but I doubt iTunes will do anything to fix this.

I also got 2 copies of the LLWD audio track instead of 1 audio and 1 music video, like the identically-priced deluxe album version. Still trying to determine who to contact to get the music video as part of the iTunes pass.

  78. Having different reviewers pick out different tracks as their faves sounds like a very good thing about the album, to me’ ¦. And there is a fair amount of variety here, really.

I was quite surprised that ‘let it rain’ wasn’t mentioned by the latest reviews. I think it’s one of the prettiest song on the cd. On that I was agreeing with the critic from the Miami Herald

I guess Kris was so hyper yesterday than anyway he couldn’t have slept earlier and was out late at night with his band. Because of the cold it might explain a rougher vocals on CSA this morning. It was smoother at the Miami tail gate party

  79. Nevermind. I found my answer. Has anyone bought/heard the exclusive Walmart bonus track?

  80. RemusL – Still trying to determine who to contact to get the music video as part of the iTunes pass.

Heh, I bought the MV. I never expected it to be included in the pass and I have no problems that it wasn’t. I did get a credit for buying LLWD but when the CD downloaded it did 2 copies of it. Oh well.

    Loving having the liner notes.

Where do I find reviews now that it’s officially out?

  81. @MaryS-NJ: apparently Send Me All Your Angels is up on youtube. IDF posted it– I like it Daughtry’s influence is very noticeable!

  82. I just went ahead and manually edited all the song file information. I used the EW tracklist article for the composer names. Yeah, it’s a pain but I doubt iTunes will do anything to fix this.

I’m actually listening to the album for free on lala right now (listened to John Mayer’s first, and it was a bit of a snooze, although I liked a few songs a lot). iTunes has been pretty responsive to me in the past. They “comped” me LLWD when I complained I didn’t get it when it was originally released on iTunes and they told me it wasn’t meant to be part of the Pass (even though it was being advertised right on their home page!), and then, of course, I ended up getting the single a few weeks later when it was released officially. Now I’ve gotten a third copy of it (“Debut Album Track 1”)! They honestly don’t know what they’re doing half the time. Kris’s iTunes promotion was very sloppy, but I don’t think it was intentional on anybody’s part. Just your typical snafu.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they give every iTunes Passholder the album a second time, but it probably will take them several days. I’m sure a lot of customers are complaining!

Still trying to determine who to contact to get the music video as part of the iTunes pass.

Go into your account and go back to the original iTunes Pass purchase and then click on “report a problem.” Somebody will get in touch with you in a day or two. When they see that you’re a “good customer,” they’ll probably comp you the video.

  83. Congratulations, Kris! Loved opening iTunes and seeing his face on big banners on the main page, the music page, and the pop page. I’d be interested in links to reviews too, if anyone has them.

(I also love seeing John Mayer at #1 and #2! It’ll be interesting to see HDD’s early predictions tomorrow.)

  84. oh my god oh my god oh my god!

i’m super super happy :) *happy dancing

i actually vowed to myself i wouldn’t be bothered with itune sales, at40 rankings and the other number games but this really made my day! i know i’m being a hypocrite but wow this really made me happy! you go kris! congratulations!!

  85. I was quite surprised that ‘let it rain’ wasn’t mentioned by the latest reviews. I think it’s one of the prettiest song on the cd.

agree with you mltfan! also surprised now not many of the reviews mention I Need To Know cos to me, Let it Rain and I Need to Know are the best songs in the entire elbum

that said, i love how lot of the reviews mention what a cool song Red Guitar is and how its best reflects kris as a musician

  86. Enjoy the [‘Kris Allen Reign’ (Rain)] You Know, instead of the ‘Drizzle” ¦ Let It Rain ‘ ¦ Any takers? ‘ ¦. No’ ¦ Thank God’ ¦ Coz it’s kinda lame’ ¦ or not’ ¦.Whatever!!

haha this one cracked me up….anyone got an umbrella i can borrow?

by the way, anyone here? or am i late to the party? (again)

  87. Brian Mansfield specifically singled “Let it Rain’s” lyrics as being so trite that it kept him from really listening to the song. I had a similar reaction the first time I heard the song (and couldn’t help but compare it unfavorably to Patty Griffin’s gem, “Rain”), but it does have a good melody, and Kris sings it well.

And the truth is most of these Idol releases have some very overdone and unoriginal lyrics. But, then again, pop music is rarely about originality or incredible lyrics.

  88. I agree that it shows that Kris has a good (great for me) album, if so many different people like different songs.

@BootStar: Let It Rain and The Truth are my absolute favorites. Of course I love the whole album, but those two, WOW.

  89. I’m here, SarahP! Listening to the awesome KA album on my ipod and bopping up and down in my seat, smiling like a looney-bird! :-) It’s a great day! I don’t care about the numbers or the reviews. Nope, today it’s just all about his music. *very happy*

ETA I had no problem with my pre-order download, fwiw

  90. Brian Mansfield specifically singled ‘Let it Rain’s’ lyrics as being so trite that it kept him from really listening to the song. I had a similar reaction the first time I heard the song (and couldn’t help but compare it unfavorably to Patty Griffin’s gem, ‘Rain’ ), but it does have a good melody, and Kris sings it well.

Actually, he said that using Rain as a metaphor for your problems in a song is trite. He even went as far to say that the song is good, and the melody is nice, but that he couldn’t get over how cliched the Rain part is, because it reminds him of the time that he wrote a song and used the same metaphor.

  91. just wanted to stop by and congratulate Kris and all his fans. Great day for you. All is well in Idol land. So nice to see both Kris and Adam fans happy on the same day. Lots of good music and good times for all

  92. I’m Here SarahP!!!
LOL I was just about to write how my posts are just “filler” comments; all random content, no actual substance!! (I iz in silly delirious mood today!!!)
There is soooo much Kris all around, makes me wanna hug myself!!!
I want Slezak Interview RN. That Little teaser Broke My Heart!!!

@hoosiermama – I normally don’t give a crap about numbers but Hey… numbers are excellent today so… FLAIL!!! “I’m standing at your door… BB BB Plzzzzz.”

  93. just watched the cant stay away video on abc and i swear those guys do read this blog a bit! who knows!!! cos remember how we were complaining a few days ago about what a stage pole the lead guitarist was and in this video he had actually loosened up a bit and rocking it…and we were also saying cale was almost a non-entity but today even he was nicely covered on camera…(but probably cos kris went over to him and sang to him)..now all we need to cut up those bangs in the drummer’s hair. hehe

overall, nice job kris, cale and the band!

  94. I listened to the cd three times after midnight last night, and now I’m on my second time through this morning. I still love it. :-)

  95. The only song I really can’t get into is Lifetime. Even The Truth, which isn’t my fave (I have a strong negative bias against Pat Monahan songs) has grown on me. Can not wait to get the Wal-Mart CD today!

  96. Actually, he said that using Rain as a metaphor for your problems in a song is trite. He even went as far to say that the song is good, and the melody is nice, but that he couldn’t get over how cliched the Rain part is, because it reminds him of the time that he wrote a song and used the same metaphor.

Thanks for clarifying that, babybelle32. I was too lazy to look up what Brian actually said. Here’s the full quote from Brian:

Let It Rain (Kris Allen, Tobias Karlsson). “Let it rain” is one of those songwriting cliche phrases I just can’t get past. I’m sure it’s a personal thing. As I recall, I wrote a song with that title in high school and got roundly mocked for being unoriginal, even then. I’ll admit that this ballad, which uses the rain as a metaphor for all the obstacles that won’t prevent Kris from reaching the object of his desire, is far, far better than anything I ever wrote. And it has a very pretty melody, but I hear that phrase and immediately tune out. Your mileage may vary.

  97. Congrats to adorable Kris!!! I like the album and there are some great songs. Also, I LOVE the video to ‘LLWD’.

  98. The only song I really can’t get into is Lifetime.

I think I’m an anomaly. Everyone seems to dislike this song and yet it’s one of my favorites on the album. Hahaha.

  99. Go, Kris!

May he sell jillions and jillions and jillions. Going to get my genuine hard copy CD in official launch town New York City later this week. Figure a good place to up the count.

Congrats to Kris. May the fast, hot iTunes rankings continue to soar!

  100. Congratulations Kris!!!!!!!!!! Excellent, excellent news. It’s time for you and Katy to go house shopping. I loved the album but guess what? We now have conclusive proof that a whole lot of people love this album. And even more and more will be loving it soon. It’s a great iPod addition! So well written … and sung. And a fabulous music video too. So… TA DA!!! I’m quite happy now!!! (And simon can stick it.)

And you’re going to be everywhere around the talk show circuit! Good to watch. I’ll be watching. Too much stuff to do. Have lots of fun Kris. TA DA

  101. I see you Kris.. :-)

    #3 in POP CANADA.

    Congratulations Kris!!!!!!!!!!

  102. wow i really like from the ashes…got a little more rockier edge no? who did he co-write this song with? mat kearney?

and send me all your angels got a sweet melody to it! and since i love chris, i really like his influence on this song…

and what a perfect ending to a tuesday! on this happy note, i’m off to bed

HAPPY KRIS-MAS EVERYONE (i’m borrowing this line from mltfan i think)

  103. Uh huh. Uh huh.

    From American Songwriter (thanks vanjess38)

But if ‘Red Guitar’ is any indication of what Allen can do on his own, perhaps someone in his camp will realize that this Johnny Cougar’s got Mellencamp potential, and can be more than an Idol, he can be an artist.

    Ooooooo. Not too shabby!!!!!!!!!!

  104. Bye the way. WTF. I mean seriously. Why do Kris’s album and Adam’s preview have to come out on the same day? Crappy, crappy timing.

  105. spinastory
    11/17/2009 at 12:50 pm

    I see you Kris.. :-)

    #3 in POP CANADA.

Too cute!! You made me smile (just like Kris’ tweets!)!

  106. Heartless, Before We Come Undone, and The Truth are all charting on the iTunes Pop singles chart, fwiw.

  107. OK so of course the Det News link didn’t work. What’s crazy to me is that after reading all of the reviews’“ there is a lot of variety amongst reviewers on which is the strongest track on the album’ ¦ never paid attention to reviews before, but I have seen almost every song (except for Lifetime) mentioned as a standout on the album

Here’s the link to Adam Graham’s review.

    http://bit.ly/4dP4Nu

“It’s an aw-shucks album for an aw-shucks kinda guy.” At least, he liked Alright With Me.

  108. LOVE this album. An album is great when I like 70% of the song, and I love 10 out of 13 songs from this album, so it’s definitely amazing. Very solid idol debut. I’m glad it’s doing well so far :)

  109. Heartless, Before We Come Undone, and The Truth are all charting on the iTunes Pop singles chart, fwiw.

Cool! Album is doing great. Latest ranking (overall chart): #8 Regular Album #15 Deluxe or More expensive album

    LLWD #41

Two new Top 40 adds this week so far :)

    WOW! Congrats Kris!!!

  110. Thanks, Vanjess38! That’s a review I can wrap my head around. I want to know what other songwriters and artists think, not so much bloggers.

I previously opined that ‘From the Ashes’ was faulty due to bandzilla overpowering the vocals. On second listen, I was wrong. It’s all my fault. I had my earbuds swapped. I’m hearing impaired in one ear and the one tuned louder was the one that had most of the band. :::hanging head in shame:::

I also just listened to ‘Send Me All Your Angels’ on youtube. We don’t have walmart here, so I guess I’m going to have to order online if I want that.

Oh, and his album is now #3 and #5 on iTunes Pop chart. Nice that people are buying the deluxe version too.

  111. TwigLA

It’s ok. For myself, I often listen to my iPod while vacuuming. Even with earbuds in, it doesn’t do much for the sound. The things we do when we’re in a hurry.

Also, the numbers are great … really great … but I think the songwriters approval would thrill Kris almost as much. I might be wrong but I get the impression that peer recognition, acceptance and accolades mean much more to him than the money.

  112. MaryS-NJ Don’t forget to give me a call when you’re ready to attend that Kris concert! I miss my concert going buddy!

  113. Wow. I’ve never been a Kris fan, but I like this CD. I can’t believe it. I almost never like Idol contestants’ work after the show.

I bought, I’m listening to it, I love it, I will listen to it many more times! That is amazing! The only other Idol CDs I’ve really liked are Melinda’s and Josiah’s.

  114. just listen to “from the ashes” and I like it a lot! very good song. This is the one with Matt Kearny?

What about ‘Send Me All Your Angels’ , the co-write with Chris Daughtry? Don’t know when the album will drop at walmart in Canada. I checked on their site this morning and it wasn’t there

  115. I’m not thrilled with the fact that its actually dropping in rank ugh. I’m really nervous about the HDD one day predictions tomorrow.

  116. I went and got the Walmart version so that I could have the collab. with Daughtry, even though, generally speaking, I’m not a Daughtry fan. The track is ok. I like it better than “Lifetime”. I’ve only listened to it once in the car, so I may change my mind. Right now, it’s pretty close to the bottom of my list as far as ranking the songs on the cd is concerned.

  117. Mtlfan, “From the Ashes” is not the Mat Kearny co-write. That one didn’t make it at all. :( I haven’t been able to download yet and will be getting my Wal-Mart copy this evening.

  118. I’m not thrilled with the fact that its actually dropping in rank ugh

It’s got two versions in the Top 15. They cannibalize each other’s numbers. As the bundle increases in sales, the plain version drops. They’ll be added together for the week.

    John Mayer: 1 and 2
    Justin Bieber: 3
    Leona Lewis: 4 and 26
    Them Crooked Vultures: 5
    One Republic: 6 and 32
    Norah Jones: 7 and 14
    Kris Allen: 8 and 15

So, it’s hard to determine where everybody really is (except that John is clearly first and that Norah is ahead of Kris). This is a very crowded week.

I’m really nervous about the HDD one day predictions tomorrow.

So am I. I really don’t know what to predict.

  119. Well I was a bad Kris fan today because I also bought John Mayer’s cd. I feel guilty buying a cd ranked above Kris, LOL.

  120. Popped over to Wal-Mart at lunchtime and got my copy. I had only heard LLWD before today, so I guess you could say I was listening with fresh ears. On my second run-through right now, and I really, really like it. Maybe it’s just in my wheelhouse, taste-wise, but so far there aren’t any songs that I feel really compelled to skip, which has not been the case with other AI debuts that I’ve heard.

  121. what is the HDD?

lol Jersey, you’re entitled to love John Mayer too ..

  122. what is the HDD?

Hits Daily Double. They run a music website. You’ve probably seen their Vibe Raters posted here (it lists newcomers they think are creating buzz in the music biz. They’ve listed Kris a bunch of times. That’s where we first got confirmation on his management).

They also do prediction of album sales. Each Wednesday, they do a prediction on numbers for debuting albums (based on Tuesday’s sales). On Friday, they post a weekend update for new albums and the top 10 (or whatever they feel like). Then, on Monday and Tuesday, the post predictions for album sales for the top 50 albums (the numbers get updated as more and more vendors report in). They are usually in the ballpark with their numbers.

  123. I’m really nervous about the HDD one day predictions tomorrow.

Me too. I’m not invested in Kris at all, but I want him to sell more than Jordin did her first week (debut album). I really do, and I’m not sure what to expect.
It’s true that he has two album in the top 15, but still the rankings don’t make me that hopefull.

  124. Thanks Mtlfan, is this the thing Jim C. was referring to last night? Is there more?

Funny on “Heartless”, I think if Kris’s idol fans alone were polled they would agree with Kris. Love the stripped down version. I believe I would have preferred this. I also love his honesty!!!

However the album version is far better than the idol studio, and I ain’t gonna lie, I’m a huge fan of Phil Collins, In the Air!

  125. Kris

RT @AmberAbyss: I’m trying to decide whether to buy @KrisAllen’s new album, or Left 4 Dead 2. A: left 4 dead 2.
    40 minutes ago from Echofon

omg, what is going on in his mind. He told this girl to buy the game… I think he’s bold with his humor today to say the least..

  126. i’m predicting 65-85k for kris. anything above 100K will be a good thing.

  127. I actually think that 50 Cent will be Number 1 this week ahead of John Mayer. His digital album sales from last week will count for this week, as today was his official album drop. And 50 Cent was #1 on iTunes for several days last week. It’s super crowded this week. But it’s great to see Kris up there in the Top 10.

    Good luck to Kris.

  128. i’m predicting 65-85k for kris. anything above 100K will be a good thing.

Are you forgetting the itunes pass and pre-orders?

  129. I actually think that 50 Cent will be Number 1 this week ahead of John Mayer. His digital album sales from last week will count for this week, as today was his official album drop

That annoys me to no end. Why can’t AI report a season’s worth of Idol sales then the week after Idol ends? They can just post-date the release date. They need one set of rules for everybody. I hope John beats 50 cents.

  130. It’s true that he has two album in the top 15, but still the rankings don’t make me that hopefull.

I never buy anything from iTunes. But from what people are saying, I gather it’s a good predictor of overall sales?

I bought the CD at Newbury Comics today on my lunch hour. Original sticker price, 15.99. They always have pretty good deals for new CDs there and their price was 11.98.

  131. Based on what other pop artists have been pulling in recently, yeah, I think anything in the neighborhood of 100K would be phenomenal. Seriously. The charts have been terrible.

I ran out for a Walmart copy today (wanted to hear the Daughtry song) and the display said $13.98, even though it rang up at $9.99. Go figure! He was next to John Mayer and Carrie, btw, which seemed like good placement to me.

  132. My son has spent more money in the Newbury Comics in Boston than any other store, ever. And he’s only been in Boston twice, for two 5 week stints two summers in a row. I think he must have spent all his free time in that store. LOL.

  133. Why the doom and gloom? I am not understanding the low predictions. Kris went to #1 today, he had good itune pre-orders, and he had the itunes pass. Is the 65-85 prediction not including those? Is this only for digital albums?

  134. I ran out for a Walmart copy today (wanted to hear the Daughtry song) and the display said $13.98, even though it rang up at $9.99. Go figure! He was next to John Mayer and Carrie, btw, which seemed like good placement to me.

It was priced the same at my WalMart… I thought 13.98 seemed high, but was very pleased with the discount. In my Walmart, the CD was placed right next to the unofficial Adam CD (Take One, or something??). Seems like shifty marketing to me…. I wonder how many casual fans will assume that is Adam’s official debut.

  135. Itunes is only a very small portion of total sales alaadam. Going number 1 in pop and 4 in overall albums in itunes doesn’t translate to very many “actual” cds. The Walmarts and Best Buys of the world still sell most of the albums. There is really no way to predict what those numbers will be at this point in time.

  136. The numbers appear to be good. Wouldn’t iTunes reflect what is going on with physical cd sales?

I called it- John Mayer and the Justin Bieber kid at #1 and #2. (you had to wait till the kiddies got home from school)

  137. I’m happy to see that Kris went to #1 today! Congratulations, Kris, and enjoy your success!!

  138. Very good album. I had only intended to download a few songs then ended up buying the whole thing. I love the fact that he wrote so many of the songs himself. So far Red Guitar is my favorite.

  139. Home from work, WalMart CD in hand (9.99 for me too), Ipod loaded with itunes pass (Apple, we need to talk) and happy as can be! What a great day for Kris Allen and his fans.

  140. Not gonna be clicking that link since it’s being posted in every thread.

  141. I have no idea what to expect in terms of sales in this economy. Frankly, I’m not expecting any sort of wow number, expect maybe from John Mayer. All I want right now is to know I’m going to get a second Jive CD from Kris down the line.

I had the iTunes pass download last night from my purchase in May (WTF Apple are you serious? – you can’t even label my tracks and put them in the right order? And thanks for the really old artwork, too). Will be getting Walmart hard copy tomorrow (LOVE the Daughtry track).

Kirsten – where is Kris now on the Canadian iTunes chart? I know he was doing pretty well early this morning.

  142. Well all I’ll say it I really do hope my gut feeling is wrong and ends up with some amazing sales. I went to Best Buy tonight and out of all the new releases his probably had the worst placement, one row all the way at the bottom of an endcap. Whoever upthread said they think 50 Cent might be #1, I wouldnt be shocked due to the stupid rules. FWIW he had placement in THREE different spots and it definitely looked like a lot was gone. I saw a total of 3 John Mayer CD’s, looked like they were nearly sold out.

#1 in pop really isn’t that great in the grand scheme of things especially considering he didn’t stay there very long. I have my fingers crossed though.

  143. Eileen99, I just checked and he was #3 pop and #11 overall on itunes Canada

  144. I can’t open iTunes on my work computer. Where is Kris’ album on the US iTunes charts now?

  145. Hey , we should be celebrating what Kris has achieved , not predicting doom & gloom when there is no indication from album sales really!!
To be new artist in the top 10 is great considering the competition he has there from known names !!

  146. Kris is #8 & #14 overall and #3 & #5 on pop.

Judes: We’re just worrying. We’re Kris fans. It’s what we do.

  147. have no idea what to expect in terms of sales in this economy. Frankly, I’m not expecting any sort of wow number, expect maybe from John Mayer. All I want right now is to know I’m going to get a second Jive CD from Kris down the line.

ITA Eileen99! All I wanted on the show was for Kris to be able to make an album in the first place and I couldn’t be more pleased! :D

  148. Regarding album placement I just got my CD at WalMart and it was front and center on the aisle– next to Carrie Underwood and I think Janet Jackson… so good stuff!

  149. Kris mentioned a 2nd album in the interview with Jim C.
    I’m confident it will happen

  150. Congrats to Kris. I’ve been a bit worried about how his numbers would look like, and this is a nice sign.

Just as a note, I believe that the description of how itunes works above is incorrect. I’m relatively certain that it is incorrect that all of the itunes sales reflected in the initial itunes ranking for a new album are from the past couple of days. I think that itunes cheats with its album rankings—it ranks the preorders (even though they were only ordered and not purchased, in the sense of paid for) in the album chart, to build excitement for the preorder. It then removes the preorder from the site, and as folks download the album that they have preordered, those downloads (which are effective purchases at that time) are registered as purchases and add with the “regular” purchases to lead to the initial sets of rankings. Again, leading to excitement, but also reflecting what actual purchases were made within the relevant timeframe. That’s always been my understanding, and it certainly explains how Kris (whose preorder rankings in recent days have not exactly been super-high) leapt up to #4, and then started to slide down. Kris fans were excited enough to start their downloads as soon as they were available, so he zoomed up the rankings.

I don’t know how the itunes pass works with the itunes album chart ranking.

Still need to give the CD another listen…. What do folks think of the WM bonus?

  151. Huh…all y’all that got that discount…wish I was at YOUR Walmart! I got charged the full 13.88! His CD was placed nicely, on the endcap of “New Releases” right at eye-level with John Mayer’s new one. Speaking of Mayer, no one kill me, don’t know how it’ll affect sales, but iTunes gave me a 6 song credit refund for the iTunes Pass/preorder confusion, and I used them on some “Battle Studies” tracks, but not the whole album. I’ll probably do the “Complete My Album” option next week.

FolkFan, I can’t speak for all but I really liked the Daughtry collaboration!

  152. I’m trying to figure out why Norah Jones is below Kris on Pop and but above him on the over all albums. Is one of her versions listed under another genre?

I went to three different stores for the CD and they were all out of it, so I’m sure how it’s selling is different in every store around the country. Target, Wal-Mart and Best Buy were out of it in my area. If it was a matter of them being unprepared and they only had a handful, not expecting it to sell out, then that’s kind of bad, but at the same time they might order a bunch more copies if they realize it’s selling really well. And I finally found a copy at a Wal-Mart and they had it at the center of the endcap right next to Justin Bieber’s CD and Glee.

I think sales are good. They are probably not stellar and amazing, but this is the first week. As soon as more singles are released, it will do even better, IMO.

@FolkFan: I liked “Send Me All Your Angels”, but I definitely got the Chris Daughtry vibe in there, so I wasn’t feeling it as much as I loved “From the Ashes”. Now THAT song is absolutely fantastic. It sounds like a cross between Paramore and Incubus. I’m really impressed with this song and Kris’s vocals on it. One of my favorites on the album, definitely.

  154. Norah is under the Vocal genre so she wouldnt be under Pop. If you look at this feed it lists the genre each album is listed as.

  155. ‘From the Ashes’ . Now THAT song is absolutely fantastic. It sounds like a cross between Paramore and Incubus.

I don’t know why but From the Ashes reminded me of Before We Come Undone.

Product placement: I bought the CD today in Newbury Comics, which is a Boston record store chain. They’re usually cheaper than most places, and the CD was 11.98. The price was advertized with a big yellow sticker on the cover of the CD. It was very easy to find — the new songs are on an endcap near the cashier, about 30 feet into the store — and it was at the top left hand corner — so, “reading” left to right, it was basically impossible to miss. I found it immediately.

The cover photo is a little darker than it appears online. I’m glad the letters are large, making it easier to read.

  156. tought it was amusing…….. someone from Conway twitted that the Target store ran out of Kris’s album today
