Hold the presses! Let’s pause discussion of all the troubles and strife in an increasingly violent world! IT’S TIME FOR ANOTHER INANE CELEBRITY FEUD! And how IS IT that singer/songwriter/pap queen Taylor Swift is smack dab in the middle of so many of them?
After last night’s airing of E!’s Keeping up with the Kardashians featured Kimmy dissing and shading Taylor Swift for publicly calling her and husband Kanye West liars. The reality star POSTED a video of Kanye’s phone call with Taylor to her snapchat. Oops.

Taylor had previously said she did not approve the lyrics “For all my Southside niggas that know me best / I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / I made that bitch famous,” and called them “misogynistic.”
But in the series of videos, Kanye recites out loud some of the lyrics to the song to Swift over the phone. Taylor is then heard thanking him and described the lyric of them having sex as a “compliment.” OOPS.
Taylor responded on twitter, insisting that she didn’t know about the “bitch” line. Eh. Really, calling you a bitch would have been the deal breaker?
Kim posting video of Kanye and Taylor’s private conversation on social media is pretty low, even for her. It also might be illegal, as California has laws against recording and making public private telephone conversations public without the party’s knowledge. So there is that. ETA: Apparently, Taylor’s lawyers sent the West-Kardashians a letter demanding they destroy the video. Maybe Taylor will sue.
“Demand is hereby made that you immediately destroy all such recordings, provide us of assurance that this has been done, and also assurance that these recordings have not been previously disseminated.”
EOnline has the full call transcript. Taylor gushed enthusiastically throughout the phone call, thanking Kanye for giving her the heads up on the lyric, and actually admitting that he needn’t have done it.
Kanye West reads the “Famous” lyric: “To all my southside n—-s that know me best, I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex.”
Taylor Swift: “I’m like this close to overexposure.”
Kanye West: “Oh, well this I think this a really cool thing to have.”
Taylor Swift: “I know, I mean it’s like a compliment, kind of.”
Kanye West: “All I give a f–k about is you as a person and as a friend, I want things that make you feel good. ”
Taylor Swift: “That’s sweet.”
Kanye West: “I don’t want to do rap that makes people feel bad.”
Taylor Swift: “Umm, yeah I mean go with whatever line you think is better. It’s obviously very tongue in cheek either way. And I really appreciate you telling me about it, that’s really nice.”
Kanye West: “Oh yeah, I just had a responsibility to you as a friend you know, and I mean thanks for being so cool about it.”
Taylor Swift: “Aw thanks. Um yeah I really appreciate it, like the heads up is so nice. [inaudible] Even asking or seeing if I would be okay with it and I just really appreciate it. Like I would never expect you to like tell me about a line in one of your songs.”
Kanye West: “It’s pretty crazy.”
Taylor Swift: “And then the flowers that you sent me, I like Instagrammed a picture of them and it’s like the most Instagram likes I’ve ever gotten. It was like 2.7”
That last quote from Taylor tells you everything you need to know about why, after Kanye humiliated her on the MTV music awards, she’d chum up to him and his wife anyway. Heh.
