Kelly Clarkson opens her NBC daytime talk show every day with a cover. On Wednesday (Oct 2), she paid homage to fellow American Idol winner Carrie Underwood by performing her massive country crossover hit “Before He Cheats.”

Kelly Clarkson and Carole King Sing “Where You Lead” Global Citizen Fest
Kelly won the inaugural season of American Idol in 2002, while Carrie is the season 4 champ, crowned in 2005. The two got together in 2018 at the Disney Radio Music Awards, where they took photos on the red carpet. Hopefully Kelly will invite Carrie to be a guest on her talk show, at which point fans will finally get that Carrie/Kelly duet!
