Singer and NC native Kellie Pickler does 101st Airborne assault course. It goes badly – Country singer and Albemarle, North Carolina, native Kellie Pickler proved on “American Idol” and “Dancing with the Stars” that she has many talents, but U.S. military aerial assault techniques aren’t among them. Pickler tried last week to master the 101st Airborne’s Sabalauksi Air Assault School at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and a video shared Monday on Facebook by the U.S. Army shows it did not go well for the singer. – Read more at Charlotte Observer

  1. I miss the Forbes highest earning Idols lists. But for the highest earning women in music list, Katy Perry is indeed the QUEEN for 2018 with Taylor Swift a close second. The closest we will get for Idol, lol.

    The World’s Highest-Paid Women In Music 2018

Back in 2015, when Katy Perry appeared on the cover of Forbes after earning $135 million in a single year, she knew she’d secured her place in the pop star firmament—and wouldn’t ever have to worry about fading into oblivion. Three years later, Perry has proved herself right: She’s the highest-paid woman in music, pulling in $83 million pretax during our scoring period. One of the hardest-working names on the list, Perry played 80 dates of her Witness: The Tour in Forbes’ June-to-June timeframe, grossing over $1 million per night. She also managed to find time to serve as a judge on ABC’s American Idol reboot, reportedly earning north of $20 million for her troubles.

    Full List
    1. Katy Perry
    2. Taylor Swift
    3. Beyoncé
    4. Pink
    5. Lady Gaga
    6. Jennifer Lopez
    7. Rihanna
    8. Helene Fischer
    9. Celine Dion
    10. Britney Spears

  2. I like Kellie Pickler, she is willing to put skin in the game, and also laugh at herself – – the number of tours she has done for the military since being on Idol is admirable. Cool story. IMO.

  3. I don’t miss Forbes and their Annual Estimation list, but I see they have picked up the slack! So last year, before Idol, there were stories about a *failed* album, and this year Katy Perry is The World’s Highest-Paid Woman In Music 2018 –entertainment media is just as fickle as ever, I see.

  4. I love her as well. Funny thing is I don’t listen to her music because I’m not into country, but I do catch her on her tv series when I can and enjoyed the Hallmark movie. When she was on Idol, I always thought she should have her own sitcom.

  5. It appeared Lady Gaga went through a short rough period with an album, and when Katy also did, many tried to call her a has been. Some has been, to the tune of $83M!

  6. The Christmas at Graceland Hallmark movie is apparently on again tonight at 10. Not a fan of Hallmark movies but, as an Elvis fan, have been to Graceland. Will record and take a look, thanks.

  7. This guy who wrote the review also took nice photos at the show —

My review of David Cook’s show at the City Winery DC is now online. http://therogersrevue.com/david-cook-at-city-winery-dc/ … David Cook always amazes me with his music and vocals. New Single is amazing. Hope to see David Cook again soon. @thedavidcook #Deathofme #LightOn @ComeBacktoMe @TheRogersRevue

  8. I’m sure this list is an estimation (not just for Idols) as well but the idol lists were fun to me. Like this one, it was nice to see how they were doing and if favorites made it onto the list at any level. Most who make these lists probably deserve to be there and it is good publicity. But I agree about the “failed” and the ‘flop” charges against Katy. Just silly. It always seemed to me that even if Katy was not doing as well as her last album (most without the name Taylor did not unless they padded it with concert bundles) she was going to do better and make a lot more money than any favorite Idols. It seems also more than most women in music. With/without Idol money, her worldwide concerts were going to be a huge financial success.

  9. I don’t follow her. Huge respect and gratitude for her generous support of our troops. Remembering our troops and all that they sacrifice this Thanksgiving and every day.

    David Cooks Acoustic tour revue!
David Cook’s acoustic show at the City Winery D.C.

    November 17, 2018 Jeff Talbert
    Excerpts:
Season 7 winner of American Idol came back to Washington D.C. On Wednesday November 14th for his acoustic tour. I saw David Cook perform earlier this year and was looking forward to this show and he did not disappoint.

I enjoy seeing artists at smaller venues such as the City Winery D.C. because it allows the artist more interaction with the fans, and is more personal of a show. This show was a perfect example.

. David’s interaction with the audience was great. …David is not only a great musician, but he is also a great story teller.

He spoke of how much he loves watching Netflix, asking the audience what they liked to watch and the show Keepers came up. He asked who in the audience had seen the show. To David’s surprise, he heard a woman say she was in it. He asked if she was serious and she said she was. Baltimore native Jean Hargadon Wehner, aka “Jane Doe” was in the audience. David was star stuck and was excited to have a real star in the audience!

…to end the show, he played his new single which has just been released. The song is “Death of Me” and I sat there listening to the song and my first reaction was this song should be a hit. The guitar and percussion were catchy and simple, but Davids vocals shined and to me is what made the song great. I left the show and first thing I did when I got to my car and listened to the song a few times on my way home! If you have not heard his new single yet, take a listen, I think if you’re a fan of David’s music, you will be a fan of this song as well!

In closing, David Cook is such a great performer, from the music to his vocals, he is one of the few artists who I would love to see anytime they came to town. I hope he comes back again soon. I am a big fan!
