  1. I knew this but it’s nice to see it again – absolutely fantastic stats for the Adam/Allison concerts! And it’s happening all over again internationally!

  2. Kirsten, are those Billboard boxscores? IdolStages won’t be posting boxscores anymore (I think that they posted Pollstar boxscores). They have this message posted:

Sorry. We will no longer be able to carry boxscores.

Some tours do not prefer to have attendance data displayed.

It sounds like they were contacted by management of some Idols who don’t want their concert boxscores publicized.

  3. Did anyone ever see statss on the Dallas show? That was one of my shows that I attended and wanted to see how many people were there. It was GA and packed but I heard it wasn’t sold out.

  4. It’s over for IIHY on Pop. I’m not sure if 15 or 16 will be the official peak. It still has a bullet on HAC.

  5. Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, IN, must be a tough sell. Adam didn’t even fill it (2819 of 3027), but he did far better than Clay and Ruben. Judging by reports dribbling in on their tour concerts, they didn’t do very well.

  6. It sounds like they were contacted by management of some Idols who don’t want their concert boxscores publicized.

Before people run away with this idea? That’s not what happened. The problem is with Pollstar.

  7. Pop is done. It’s been a good run IIHY! For a song that was released in May, that’s a lifetime for Pop. It did well, got to gold. It’ll be a race between Misery and IIHY, whoever drops least will be 15.

ETA: Fantastic stats for Glam Nation! Congrats Adam.

  8. Jae:
Did anyone ever see stats on the Dallas show?

They were reported in the last week or two. 1769 tickets of 2307 were sold. That’s 76.68%, the lowest sale percentage reported for any of Adam’s tour shows so far. It took in $69,876.

  9. sr4mjc, isn’t it a race for #16 between Misery and IIHY, and CTM #15 at this pace?

  10. These ones got posted after last Thursday’s post so it may have been missed:

    Adam Lambert
Seminole Hard Rock Live; Hollywood, FL
    Sept 19, 2010
    $247,525; 5,566 of 5,566 (100%); $40 – $60

    Adam Lambert, Orianthi, Allison Iraheta
    Palladium Ballroom, Dallas, TX
    September 7, 2010
    $69,876; 1,769 of 2,307 (77%); $39.50-0

ETA: thanks Kirsten, I found the Friday one, didn’t remember Saturday. I like to have them all in the concert stats post for easy reference later :)

  11. I thought CMT will go recurrent based on number of weeks on the chart this week. I’m not sure if it dropping below 15 during the week matters or not. I could be wrong though.

  12. This one got posted after last Thursday’s post so it may have been missed:

It was posted on Friday’s number’s thread. There are also some on Saturday’s numbers threads.

  13. sr4mjc, isn’t it a race for #16 between Misery and IIHY, and CTM #15 at this pace?

Since all three songs are dropping, it’s kind of funny to think of them in a race. I guess it’s a race to see who loses the fewest spins.

  14. sr4mjc, isn’t it a race for #16 between Misery and IIHY, and CTM #15 at this pace?

no because CTM will likely go recurrent even if it gets back to 15. Mediabase generally of late has been making songs recurrent once they drop below 15 (assuming they have the requisite weeks on the chart) even if they rise back up to 15 if they have big negative bullets etc. Since CTM dropped to 16 it will likely go recurrent regardless of whether it can climb back to 15. Of course there is the possibility that it does not go recurrent. And there is no guarantee that IIHY will drop below it by Sunday either — it could still be ahead of CTM. Hopefully Misery will continue to fall at a brisker pace than IIHY. Who knows….they are all falling fast. Altho, the difference between peaking at 15 or 16 is not all that meaningful IMO. YMMV. IIHY has had a good run.

  15. Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, IN has a strict over 21 policy which is not the same in all casino concert venues. Since Idols tend to draw some younger concert goers, they are completely shut out of that venue. That’s the main reason I think for the no sellout. There were many very upset younger fans when Cook played the venue and it was the epic album anniversary show and they were not able to attend because of their age.

For Reuben and Clay, it was a very decent showing in this venue because their fans probably tend to be over 21.

  16. It’s a big deal to peak at 10 instead of 11 but peaking at 15 or 16, not such a big deal. I think IIHY had a decent run on Pop. The problem with the song is that for a Pop song with longevity its downloads were kind of meh.

  17. I think it would be nice to have all the boxscores on Thursday’s numbers thread. If someone wants to find out the historical information, it would be easier to just go through one numbers thread per week than all 6 threads per week to find the information.

  18. I think it would be nice to have all the boxscores on Thursday’s numbers thread.

Do you mean all the boxscores for every Idol related concert for the past x months. That could be quite alot of info. ;) Or the ones that were newly released?

  19. I think it would be nice to have all the boxscores on Thursday’s numbers thread.

I know. But laws are like spiderwebs. If we didn’t publish stats as they became available, then people would post them everyday anyway. Then, we had problems earlier with people posting really old concert stats in the thread which caused the same discussions to occur every week (re-hashing the same stats every week), so we banned old stats. Therefore, we can’t re-publish the stats or we break our own rules and we’ll be flooded with old stats starting the re-hash again.

Shouldn’t be a problem going forward now that our non-weekly source of concert stats as been closed.

ETA: I’ll leave the stats posted in this thread for the last week since so many are asking and it will be the last time we will likely be seeing mid-week reports.

  20. A ‘2 Top 15 Hits’ tagline is nicer than ‘1 Top 15 and 1 Top 20’. ;) I think that’s the only difference. LOL

and what mmb said as far as chart position.. FU can’t catch up unless it gets +200 for the rest of the week and and IIHY has -200 (which is possible)

My local Top 40 has dropped the song.

  21. If you’re modding my post, I would rather you delete it completely.

  22. The problem with the song is that for a Pop song with longevity its downloads were kind of meh.

For its airplay its downloads were actually pretty solid. Throughout its run its rank on the bb digital sales chart was generally higher than (or at least equivalent to) its rank on the airplay chart. It hung around on the pop chart for a long time, but took a long time to climb, didn’t impact hac until relatively late in its run and had little to no rhythmic play. A lot of the songs ahead of it on itunes or BB digital sales chart had far more rhythmic play or hac play and, therefore, were higher on the BB airplay chart. I would say that sales were meh if they lagged behind airplay — but for the most part they exceeded or were equivalent to its airplay position.

  23. Thank you, sr4mjc and mmb.

I would also like to see IIHY reach top 15, important or not :)

  24. Reminder for any Daughtry fans in Tampa, tickets are still available for Saturday’s show. I am buying mine today.

  25. My local Top 40 has dropped the song.

    It’s #3 on my Top40 station’s playlist. Down from #1. :)

  26. its rank on the airplay chart.

Does the airplay chart you are talking about rank by total AI? Or by spins?

I would imagine total AI would be the important measure. I guess?

  27. I thought CMT will go recurrent based on number of weeks on the chart this week. I’m not sure if it dropping below 15 during the week matters or not

I seem to recall it’s 20 weeks and below 15 on the Pop chart. CMT only lost 21 spins yesterday, so it’s slowed it’s drop while IIHY seems to be speeding up. It’s possible that CMT would still go recurrent if it spends most of the week below 15 (they do that sometimes).

The only variable I see is Posner has another song “Please don’t go at 24 climbing the chart. I would think (So you know we are in trouble right there. :-) ) PD would be giving more attention to the new song and drop CTM much faster. Adam at this point doesn’t have another single. (though I think an opportunity is being lost if they don’t use Sleepwalker as a single) Just a thought Of course there is no set rule just seems when an artist has another song PD tend to really drop the older song. Though it didn’t really happen that way for BOB. (Wishful thinking as I would like Adam to be #15 on the published report. It really does matter on some level. A top 15 sounds better the a top 20 as pointed out by sr4mjc . Also one day of slowing for CTM doesn’t necessarily mean that is the pattern going forward tomorrow it can drop 300 spins. Today is the only day IIHY really lost significant spins up to this point. From what I have been observing the past few days. It may be less tomorrow. (I hope I hope) :D IMHO

Can I say again Yeah for Kris and new single! Really glad that Jive finally got on board. (As if it has been my plan all along that All Right With Me would be the next single. (Sort of) and that I have any influence over Jive. Ha ha ha )

  29. Does the airplay chart you are talking about rank by total AI? Or by spins?

I would imagine total AI would be the important measure. I guess?

    I’m pretty sure its AI…

  30. Well IIHY did much better than I expected, and was a moderate hit. So cool. And yes, I do want it to be able to stick around to get 15. I know it doesn’t matter, but I just do.

Oh and thank goodness no $0 tickets in the stats! That whole thing…just averted completely.

And yes, because I’m a greedy little duck, now that Kris has AWM for his next single (yay!). I want SW for Adam next. I mean, IIHY is on the express elevator, going down! so maybe, kind of, please o’ great music company gods, new single for Adam as well?

  32. A ‘2 Top 15 Hits’ tagline is nicer than ‘1 Top 15 and 1 Top 20?. I think that’s the only difference. LOL

Do they actually parse it to that level? Top 15 vs. Top 20, I mean? I thought they just say that it’s a Top 10 hit or it’s Top 20 hit. Or, as is the case with most songs, they just say “his hit singles, XYZ and ABC!” unless it went to #1 or something.

In any event, IIHY’s possibly sliding down the charts at this point may have a silver lining in that it’ll give some life to the hopes that Adam/RCA will release another single. Yes, IIHY stayed on the charts a long time for a pop song, but it didn’t stay on for an unreasonable amount of time and RCA may decide that this current album still has some momentum and why not throw another single out there? I think the answer as to whether or not to release another single may favor releasing a single since the timing is better to release right now (early October) than maybe in late October or early November.

  33. Based on iTunes, maybe Jive should have gone with Falling Stars as Archie’s single

    iTunes

    #51 – IIHY
    #68 – September
    #127 – Mama’s Song
    #142 – Falling Stars
    #165 – Undo It
    #270 – WWFM
    #365 – SBL
#523 – Other Side of Down
#574 – My Kind of Perfect
    #757 – LLWD
    #771 – Bittersweet

    PS – Archie’s album is currently #12 (deluxe) & #35 on iTunes

  34. Does the airplay chart you are talking about rank by total AI? Or by spins?

I took that to mean Kworb’s chart at Pulse, which has spins, AI & iTunes position.

  35. I think Falling Stars definately should have been the single-Jive must have some clueless intern picking the singles lately.
And Truthiness-another clueless lttle duck here.

  36. A single shouldn’t be picked just because it got higher on iTunes than the other songs from the album on the week that the album was released. Especially if we are not talking about a song making it to the top 10 or close.

  37. I took that to mean Kworb’s chart at Pulse, which has spins, AI & iTunes position.

OH! That makes sense. In the original post I thought she was talking about a Billboard chart, and there are maybe 10,000,000 if those, so I didn’t know which one she was referring to. LOL

  38. I believe she’s referring to Billboards Radio Airplay chart which is based on audience impression. That’s the chart that I tunes position is compared to in Pulse and other forums. Based on that chart, iihy was usually in line in sales ranking versus Airplay.

  39. A single shouldn’t be picked just because it got higher on iTunes than the other songs from the album on the week that the album was released.

I think so too. It’s interesting that it is higher, but we can never be sure whether it’s because the writer tweeted about the song and got his followers to buy it, or if it truly appeals to the casual buyers. I only listened to a couple of videos of Archie singing the song live, and in both occasions he had trouble with the high notes. I’m wondering if he should sing it in a lower key. I should say I personally like the song.

  40. I believe she’s referring to Billboards Radio Airplay chart which is based on audience impression. That’s the chart that I tunes position is compared to in Pulse and other forums. Based on that chart, iihy was usually in line in sales ranking versus Airplay.

yes, i was referring to the Billboard Radio Airplay Chart (or radio songs, whatever they are calling it these days)….not a chart at Pulse…the billboard chart combines ai from all formats

No Lubbock is the lowest sales % for Adam’s GNT. 50% sold according to Pollstar. 1,100 or 2,200 sold.

  42. No Lubbock is the lowest sales % for Adam’s GNT. 50% sold according to Pollstar. 1,100 or 2,200 sold.

I hadn’t seen the Pollstar numbers. Did they just report on it? With any luck, BB Boxscore will report on Lubbock soon.

Whoever scheduled Adam into that dive in Lubbock needs to find another line of work!

  43. Whoever scheduled Adam into that dive in Lubbock needs to find another line of work!

I remember thinking at the time that there may have been a better turnout in that area if the venue were different. I mean really, who would want to attend a concert in that place???
Oh yeah, I almost forgot…… I would do it for Adam! ;)

  44. OH! That makes sense. In the original post I thought she was talking about a Billboard chart, and there are maybe 10,000,000 of those, so I didn’t know which one she was referring to. LOL

I found this so funny because its so true….. Thanks for the chuckle.

  45. I remember thinking at the time that there may have been a better turnout in that area if the venue were different. I mean really, who would want to attend a concert in that place???
Oh yeah, I almost forgot…… I would do it for Adam! ;)

That venue is a pit and only useful in Spring and Fall. It is amazing he got that many people to go to a GA concert in a hotbox with the temperature over 100 degrees. I only hope Adam got a huge guarantee for playing that former slaughterhouse.

But it will go down as the lowest sales percentage of the entire GNT.

  46. After being used on episode of Vampire Diaries last night, Kris’ INTK has made an appearance on the iTunes charts in the US Is #891 on US chart. It also moved up to most popular of all of Kris’s songs on Canadian iTunes chart (anyone have link to Top 1000 so I can see if it’s ranked? Thanks)
