Idol Updates from Entertainment Weekly

Entertainment Weekly posted an update on 15 of your favorite Idols. I’m posting a summary here as some of this information is new to the blog.   I added a few song links to top it off!:

  • Kelly Clarkson – Her album, All I Ever Wanted is out March 10. But you knew that!
  • Ruben Studdard – His Hickory Records release, Love is On the Way, is out May 19. Listen to his single, “Together” HERE.
  • Clay Aiken – He parted ways with RCA recently.   He’ll be a guest judge on the April 8 episode of America’s Next Top Model.
  • Fantasia – She’s recording her 3rd studio album, and will appear in a 10 week run of The Color Purple.   She’s currently shopping around a reality show about her return to high school (Seriously?)
  • Carrie Underwood – She’s writing her third album (and collecting award trophys!)

  • Bo Bice – His 3rd album drops on June 9, with a backing band that includes Steve Gorman of the Black Crowes and Dan Toler of the Allman Brothers Band.   Also in the works–a live album this summer and a documentary chronicling his music tour in Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Iraq last year.
  • Taylor Hicks – He’s touring with Grease and will release his 2nd post-Idol album, The Distance, March 10 on his own Modern Whomp label.
  • Katharine McPhee – She’s set to star in the romantic comedy, Wedlocked. She recently signed with Verve Forecast and plans to release a pop album in the fall.
  • Chris Daughtry – His album is set to be released in late 2009.
  • Elliott Yamin – His sophomore album Fight for Love is due out May 5. The single of the same name dropped last week. Elliott also has a cut on Taylor Hick’s new album The Distance. Listen to the single “Fight For Love” HERE.
  • Jordin Sparks – She’s in the studio recording her second album. Listen to song clips HERE.
  • Blake Lewis – He’s working on a dance/techno album set to be released by his new label, Tommy Boy Records.
  • David Cook – David is releasing 2 singles in March–“Come Back to Me” and “Bar-ba-Sol” (I’m guessing the first will get a HAC/CHR release, the second to Rock radio). David is currently touring colleges across America.
  • David Archuleta – Archie is on tour too, and is promoting his latest single “A Little Too Not Over You”.
