- Don’t expect Daughtry producer, Howard Benson, to be working with Danny Gokey anytime soon. About Danny’s future prospects, Benson says, “The hardest record to make is Gokey’s record, which is why I don’t think he’s going to make one…It would be very tough to make a record with him.” Benson continues, “I don’t think he established who he was at all…He has this great, soulful voice. But he dresses like some guy that’s in a bar somewhere. He doesn’t look the part.” Ouch! Benson would work with Allison Iraheta, “I think you could get all the great rock writers and you make a kickass album with her that’s a great active rock record that crosses into hot AC [adult contemporary] with the softer stuff. I think it’s probably the easiest record to make out of all of them. In some ways it reminds me of Chris…I would love to work with her. I think I could make a huge record with that girl.” Benson also, inexplicably, likes caw caw girl, Megan Joy, “There was something about her…She kind of spun out of control a little bit at the end.” Hm. That’s one way of putting it. Via MTV.
- In other Danny Gokey news–is Dancing With The Stars in his future? He was back home in Milwaukee, WI for a free event at the Riverside theater to thank his fans for their support and raise awareness and money for his charity, Sophia’s Heart Foundation. He says his first priorities are the foundation and making an album, for which he’s already started writing songs. But he said he’d consider doing reality TV if it gives the foundation more exposure. He said he’d like to try Dancing with the Stars because the Idol judges told him he couldn’t dance. His favorite judge? Paula Abdul. “Man, She’s got heart, ” he says. via the Chicago Tribune
