‘American Idol’ Picks New Judges And Makes A Surprising Grab For Relevance – American Idol has always been a show with two audiences: the real one and the imagined one. The real one has a median viewer age of about 50, while the imagined one has a median age of about 15. You don’t see the real audience frantically waving signs during the live show, but the imagined one. I DON’T HATE ‘IDOL’ ‘It’s a Great Show’ – If Enrique Iglesias really did turn down the judging gig on “American Idol” this season, it ain’t because he hates the show … in fact, Enrique says it’s still his favorite of all the singing comps. Iglesias was leaving AV Nightclub in Hollywood this weekend — mobbed by fans — when we asked which show he liked better … “Idol,” “X Factor” or “The Voice.” FYI — the singer has reportedly turned down offers to star on EACH of the three shows.

‘X Factor’ U.K. Sunday Audience Rises, Hits Season High – LONDON – Simon Cowell’s The X Factor U.K. gained viewers and hit a season high with its second Sunday episode of the season as show representatives shot down chatter about possible changes to the music competition amid ratings declines early this season. The show on ITV1 drew an average of 9.7 million viewers on Sunday, which the broadcaster said was “the highest audience so far” this season, with a peak audience of 11.2 million.
