Reid. Mimi and L.A. were spotted cruising around the Hamptons together this weekend and sources tell us he was key in convincing her to take the “Idol” gig. Mariah Carey Will Be a ‘Wonderful’ ‘American Idol’ Judge, Says Haley Reinhart (Video) – “It’s sad to see them go, but if they’re gonna pick a new bath of judges, I think that it’s a really great opportunity to find some people that really can give some great, great advice,” season 10 second runner-up Haley Reinhart told The Hollywood Reporter at Sunday’s Teen Choice Awards. “I know there’s names thrown out there, like I just heard Gwen Stefani and Mariah Carey and even Adam Lambert, a past Idol. I think all these ideas are wonderful.”

‘The Inevitable Defeat Of Mister And Pete’ Underway With Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks, Jeffrey Wright And Anthony Mackie – State Street Pictures has teamed with iDeal Partners on The Inevitable Defeat Of Mister And Pete. The George Tillman Jr-directed film stars Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks, Jeffrey Wright, and Anthony Mackie. Michael Starrbury wrote the script, which follows two inner-city youths left to fend for themselves over the summer after their mothers are taken away by the authorities. Christina Aguilera Set To Release New Dance Track Next Month [AUDIO] – According to Billboard.com Xtina will have a new song out before the end of August, a dance track produced by none other than Swedish genius Max Martin. Max is the mastermind behind many notable Britney Spears hits and he’s also worked with Katy Perry. Have you noticed a new album title, The Hollow, has been listed under Christina’s name on their site? HazMat Team Called To Ryan Murphy’s Offices Over White Powdery Substance – Work at Ryan Murphy’s 20th Century Fox TV-based production offices was disrupted for a couple of hours today. When an office assistant was opening a letter from a fan who wanted Murphy to read his script, a little bit of white powder spilled out. As a precaution, the offices were evacuated and a HazMat team was called in. According to LAPD spokeswoman Karen Rayner, after a brief investigation, the police determined the substance was not hazardous. Everybody at the offices, which house Murphy’s three shows, Glee, American Horror Story and The New Normal, are now back at work.- Read more at Deadline
