Kelly Clarkson: I Will Never Tell My Daughter About From Justin to Kelly – You’ve talked in the past about doing a country album, but parts of this album sound like an ‘80s dance party. I’ve actually been creating both albums, a country one and this one at the same time. I’ve been working on both projects simultaneously. I’m both people. I have everything on my iPad from country to R&B to pop to rock. I listen to classical as well. I had a pop record left on my contract, so we decided to put this one out first. It’s probably my best pop album that I’ve ever put out, maybe because we had a lot of time to work on it because I was pregnant! But I will have a country album that will come out. I always tell people I might do Broadway one day, I might do an R&B album. I just like music. It doesn’t just stop at just one genre. That’s what’s cool about pop — it encompasses all of it because it’s whatever is popular. – Read more at TIME

‘The Voice’s’ Sasha Allen finds ‘magic to do’ in ‘Pippin’ – Performing on “The Voice” was a pressure “like no other,” according to fourth season competitor Sasha Allen. But it wasn’t any more challenging than her current job – singing, dancing and hanging from a trapeze as the Leading Player in “Pippin.” In the Broadway original, Ben Vereen played the role. In the revival, Patina Miller played the part. Both won Tonys for their work. Both are role models. “My mom loves Ben Vereen,” the Harlem native says. “He came to see me in the revival of ‘Hair’ (another show he originated) and he was so amazing. He’s a hard act to follow.” – Read more at

‘The Voice’ sparks Craig Wayne Boyd’s own Cinderella story – In the midst of that mad rush, looking to capitalize on the “Voice” momentum, Boyd’s first single, “My Baby’s Got a Smile on Her Face,” dropped. And the resulting clamor it generated was heard all up and down Music Row. By the time the smoke had settled, “Smile” had become the second single ever to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Charts. The only other artist to manage the feat? Garth Brooks with his 2007 hit “More Than a Memory.” #“That was definitely one of those ‘Holy cow!’ moments,” a much more polished Boyd said in a phone interview with The Albany Herald. “I was caught up in the whirlwind of all ‘The Voice’ publicity, and this happens. I didn’t know what to say. No matter what happens in my career, I’ll always be grateful to ‘The Voice’ and to all the coaches on there. That whole experience brought so much to the table. – Read more at the Albany Herald
