Season four runner up, Bo Bice, recently took some time to chat with me about his own Idol memories as well as what he has been up to since finishing in second place on the popular television show.
Paris Bennett: Growing Up
With all the negative press about American Idol and alumni of the show recently, one would almost think that anyone on the show is destined to retire to a mediocre, if non-existent career in music. Paris Bennett is not having that. Being a new mom hasn’t stopped her from capitalizing on her American Idol notoriety in order to realize her dream of being a songstress we could remember. In our interview, we talk to Paris about being a mom, American Idol and her plans for the future.
Katharine McPhee asks for patience
In a post on her MySpace page, one of the great Idols of our time, Katharine McPhee, neither confirms nor denies rumors about her upcoming album (word was it was a collaboration with David Foster) but tells Idol Nation that something — something big and mysterious, is indeed afoot. She writes:
I know that there has been a lot of mystery at times as to what is going on with my record and career but please be patient. Next year is going to be a really exciting year and as I always have said, I dont like to talk about anything until it is in writing. You are all the best fans in the world. Always so encouraging and caring and loyal and supportive. You are amazing!

Ryan Seacrest Scopes Out P&G’s ‘Kiss Cam’
Procter & Gamble has tapped American Idol host Ryan Seacrest in a New Year’s Eve promotion for its Scope brand.
The packaged goods giant is making a donation to Operation Smile for every couple caught kissing on the Scope “Kiss Cam” this New Year’s Eve. The charity, which is supported by celebrities including Jessica Simpson, Billy Bush and Mario Lopez, raises money to treat childhood deformities, such as cleft lip.
Ryan Seacrest partnered with P&G on a similar promotion for Scope last year, which ran during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve countdown on ABC. Based on the success of last year’s Scope Kiss Cam with Ryan Seacrest, P&G decided to revive the promotion this year, said P&G rep Laura Brinker.
P&G has begun advertising the promotion via radio ads on Seacrest’s nationally syndicated radio show, On-Air with Ryan Seacrest. The radio ads run through Dec. 31. Online ads went live on RyanSeacrest.com today and will continue running through January 4.
Carrie Underwood Rainy Arrival
Finished up at the Grand Ole Opry, Carrie Underwood was spotted arriving at Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday (December 17).
Sporting an oversized red handbag and black hat to keep her dry from the rainy weather, the country music superstar shuffled through security before making her way out to an awaiting ride.
