Idol winner surprise guest at Christmas party

Ruben Studdard, who was the season two winner of American Idol, performed for more than 300 people at a local production company’s Christmas party Saturday night.

Axe Productions brought in the AI winner to surprise their employees and clients with a private show.

“It’s always fun to surprise people, ” said Studdard. “Hopefully, they won’t boo when I come on stage.”

TELLY chiefs fear Simon Cowell is secretly poaching key staff from The X Factor to join him on the US version of the show.

He is believed to have drawn up a hit-list of people he would like to take over the pond to help make the £100million launch of The X Factor USA a success.

Among those he wants are the show’s Bafta Award-winning executive producer Andrew Llinares.

Another executive producer, Richard Holloway, has been told he will now have to divide his time between the US and Britain.

Bristol Palin: My Mom Didn’t “Force” Me to Do DWTS

“I will give my friend credit for creativity, and extra points for getting so many ‘facts’ wrong in so few sentences, ” she blogged. “Let me be blunt: my mom did not “force” me to go on DWTS. She did not ask me either. The show approached me.”

In a final zinger to Cho, Bristol urged the star to develop a fuller understanding of conservative politics. If that happens, says the teen activist, Cho “would embrace us faster than k.d. lang at an Indigo Girls concert.”

Jennifer Lopez Dishes On ‘Most Fascinating People’ Interview With Barbara Walters

The singer also admitted that she felt the pressure from the news correspondent during the interview, which airs Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.

Dancing With the Stars Judge: No More Palins!

“I think one Palin was enough for awhile, ” Carrie Ann Inaba told me last night at the Trevor Project’s Trevor Live benefit at the Hollywood Palladium. “I think we need to go on a Palin vacation for a minute.”

“Although it was great media attention, I think it was too controversial, ” Inaba explained. “I think people got confused about what they were rooting for: Are you voting for dancing on the show or are you voting for a Party?

“I think that made it very uncomfortable for a lot of people who just want to see a dance competition. I like to keep it simple. I think it diluted the nature of the competition.”

Ryan Seacrest Promises A ‘Wild Animal’ On ‘American Idol’ Panel

“We added a wild animal to the panel. There will be a wild animal in one of the seats, ” Seacrest told MTV News at KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball 2010 in Los Angeles over the weekend, not specifying who that person is. “I can’t tell you which wild animal, but it was one that was on the ark. So that’s something that’s new. Yes, there’s a total animal.”

Sure, the new judges are one reason to tune in to the coming season, but Seacrest is talking up the talent as well, giving the contestants two thumbs up. “The contestants that we found — we brought more kids back to Hollywood than ever before, there’s like 240 of them, so I think we’ve got a really good shot to find some fantastic [talent], ” he explained.
